I see its been televised by sky, normally one or two make it to the national squad so interesting to see the ability of them and who makes a name for themselves. I notice Durham has no player included within the squad which I suppose is a little disappointing[DOUBLEPOST=1392464873][/DOUBLEPOST]Also just seen something very interesting in the Pakistan India game, a Pakistani batsmen was given runout when a throw hit the stumps however the fielder had already knocked one of the bails off before the ball had hit the stumps. Due to one bail staying on he could be given out I always thought once the bails where broken you had to remove the stump with the ball in contact but one bail is fine apparently

I've noticed in the squads over the last couple of years there haven't been any Durham players which seems odd given how many we get coming through into our team and a fair few into the England team. Are our players late developers or just not recognised/scouted by the ECB that early in their careers?

Andy Ireland who plays for Durham 2s now and again has been involved in recent times chance to be injured tho but can bat and bowl. Btw how old is that you lad who scored a double ton for Surrey is he in the team ?

Thought at least one of the Durham u17s who won the county championship last season may have been in with a shout, although i believe most of them are only 15 and 16 and are eligible for the u17s again this summer so maybe a bit young[DOUBLEPOST=1392495034][/DOUBLEPOST]

Dominic Sibley played against Durham at the Riverside in a one day match for Surrey looked outstanding for a 17 year old

18, he's in the squad. Since that innings for Surrey he's played 7 times for England U19s and his top score was 41 :D

my guess. even our seniors struggle to get the recognition they deserve, what chance have the kids?

Englands record at 19 level is appalling, they never win a series tests or one dayers away from home and very rarely win at home unless it is against Bangladesh who for some reason they play quite regular. I think they have made it to 1 semi final in the world cup since they won it way back in 1998.
When you consider we have 18 academy set ups and unlike most other counties most of our u19s are full time pros they continue to under perform.

There is a Durham Academy player at the tournament. Gavin Main, a fast bowler, is playing for Scotland.

scotland no doubt have to scout & recuit alot harder to find decent players, plus we are a good bit nearer to scotland than we are to london.cc, i mean the ecb, so its not really a surprise.

our players are clearly not late developers, theyre in the first team by the age of 20 or less sometimes...
