Announcement on KP to be made

KP is a saint compared to Ian Botham. How many tests would Beefy have played under this lot? Drug-taking allegations, sex-scandal, assault. That was just a normal cricketing weekend thirty years ago.
But probably got on with his team mates and bonded the dressing room.

It's obvious this is for none cricketing reasons and he should never have played again after the texts he sent the South African team.

He's a risk taker. He is never going to be a safety first batsman. He averages nigh on 50, Im quite happy to take the rough with the smooth in terms of his dismissal.

Until it is fully clarified why he has been axed we dont know that he only has himself to blame. For all we know he could have been the ignored and ostracised member of the side who was outcast because he had forthright views about how we have played our cricket this winter. Its guesswork and based upon Graeme Swann's titilation to say KP has no-one to blame but himself this winter

has made himself look the biggest wankr in cricket by some way this tour. what a f***ing spud

This is an absolutely outrageous decision-how can they say he will not play again. Even though he was shit against Aussies he was still our top run scorer. Unlike Cook who has been totally gash throughout. As far as I am aware he has not breached any disciplinary rules so how can they say he can never play again- particularly if he regains his top form. Always thought Cook was okay but he has gone down massively in my eyes.

Hilarious

No coach , and yet they can make this decision

I suppose that tells you it's gonna be Giles

Get someone in that can actually handle kp. Colly

Really daft this one like.

Every single time we lose a game for the next 5 years KP's absence is gonna be brought up as a reason why we lost while he's knocking it out the park in the IPL.

He's just as good, just as cocky and just as temperamental as he ever has been, nothings changed.

Plus why even announce this? Why don't they just not pick him like in any other sport? Bit harsh just telling someone to fuck off after 10 years plus it's going to put massive pressure on the current players and new coach during a transitional period.

I'm not much of a cricket fan so my opinion is dubious at best.

All these people saying KP needs to be handled in such a way; at what point is a person responsible for his/her own behavior?

If a person is a bellend there's only so much you can do to change them.

He has hardly done that much wrong like

Wayne Rooney is more trouble, but England and Manchester United manage to include him

Surely unless the truth comes out about what has been going on in the dressing room we can't say how much he has done wrong.

Like said before to go as far as dropping your best player suggests he must have been or done something pretty bad.

Struggling to see why there's quite so much uproar over this.

Yes, he's brilliant, but surely his attitude has been questionable for many a year now? Cricket is above all else a team game and England can do without his ego...

They can do without his ego? Seems to me they cannot do without him though.
He was top England run scorer in The Ashes and is always the one the opposition want out most.

Apparently there's been a row about him allegedly trying to get himself out when he'd reached 50. Funny that, I assumed Cook had spend the whole series doing that - only before he had reached 10.

A dressing room has different characters and great leaders can manage all of them. If Michael Vaughan was still around this would not be happening. KP loved playing for England - it was not a marriage of convenience like Hick or Robin Smith in the past.

He could do his own thing but great players often do. Cricket is selfish by nature - why else's do teams declare so often after an individual batsman's landmark?
He was very much a team player when it mattered though. How often did he stick up for team mates during an on-field spat? He did just that during a row between Warner and Bell last winter,

It's a pathetic decision.

The reason of 'rebuilding' is bullshit, if England want to introduce new players then fine, but surely you keep your best player, who is also the most experienced, and has toured in every continent, scored runs all over the world against some of the best bowlers to ever play the game,

Surely he could have been used in a senior capacity to help new players step up to the international arena.

What annoys me even more about this decision is it robs the fans of the most exciting batsman England have had for 20 years. I know who I would rather watch bat.

Trott was applauded for his selfishness- even though it came at the team's expense whilst KP's defficiencies were at his expense..
