If we sold him without replacing him we'd struggle, struggle quite a lot. We need somebody in the role he plays as sweeper in front of the defense and behind the midfield and he's the only one that does that. He does it very well. However, his passing is awful and he's very nervous when he has the ball at feet under pressure.

If we can get enough money to replace him with somebody better on the ball that can play that role, I'd sell. I don't think it would be the hardest thing to do, but we would absolutely need to replace him.

touch lets him down in the position he's used.
 

The question is are we paying Catts over the odds currently. Sunderland get 5M and 50K/per week back in the bank and lower wage payroll if going down plus Catts is injury prone and red card prone......other side lose a good player in a weak midfield, could improve red cards and injuries and selling to another relegation hopeful.

Conclusion: Is replacement better or not? Tough deal to do in January. I say mix it up and go for it thou this deal might turn bad at a key point in the season. It might send us down.
 
No mention of Cattermole to stoke on the sky sports transfer thing, mentioned them having made an enquiry for rivière of Monaco....

Would be a very strange decision to let him go in this window. More of a summer sale I reckon once he's helped us stop up.

At this time of year you take everything with a pinch of salt.

Be a very strange move if we sold him right now. Dont think we are in any position to sell any first teamers givem the number of games coming up and the inexpeience once you get past 15 or a6 players. The time to change if the summer. We need players in not out.
