In all honest why? ive seen little of him but cattermole has played nearly all if not all his time in the top flight briddcutt aint.

1. Poyet rates him and I'd trust the opinion of a manager over a fan 9/10
2. Ive seen him play and he is ready for the premier league, not outstanding but good enough for us and has the potential to be very very good
3. Cattermole has played 92 games for us in 4/5 years..... it's not a very good record for a player who is supposedly our best midfielder
4. Catts (only in my opinion) doesnt suit Poyets style as well as others
5. again just my opinion but he is not as good as many make out on here
6. his discipline and injury records are very poor, out of the 92 games he has played how many has he finished? id say less than 80

I'd like Cattermole to stay, however £5m is a massive offer for someone who isnt playing very well at the moment and maybe we have to sell players to buy, I trust Poyets decisions and the players he wants to bring in

Depends on the manager and the fan... but I wouldn't go along with.

Managers have been responsible for making some incredibly stupid decisions.

fair play.... however this manager seems different, only time will tell but I have a lot of faith in Gus so think he'll be a bit clued up about players to sign
 
I'd prefer to bring in a good midfielder now and think about letting Catts go in the summer having hopefully stayed up. High risk letting him go now when there's at least two other midfielders I'd rather see out the door before Cattermole
 
Be interesting to see how this develops - if we do sell, it won't be before we play them. I know that the club is still trying to balance the books after the Bruce/O'Neill eras and an offer of 5m for a rd card and injury prone midfielder is a good one, but with Larsson, Gardner and Vaughan all out of contract in the summer (i.e. We have their wages guaranteed to be off the wage bill by 1st July) does it not make sense (even if we sign Bridcutt) to carry that additional wage (Cattermole) until the summer and re-assess?

I think in general he's good, but every manager is prone to their blind spots...baffles me how he started Gardner more than twice...

Was Claude Makele a goal threat for Chelsea?

His role is a defensive one, he doesn't get forward for corners as he's left as last man back due to his height.

He breaks up play and gives the ball to the people who can create things.

Agree but others can do that equally effectively and with less liability. Gus seems to think Bridcutt can and that's good enough for me.
