Cattermol to Stoke....

Here's a novel idea. Why doesn't short give Gus some cash to spend on quality players without tying his hands behind his back?

We have a billionare owner, and its like he's operating under murrays bank account.

Maybe we should spend 30m on Soldado, 30m on Lamela, 8.5m on Van Wolfswinkel, 22m on Jovetic and 27.5 m for Fellaini.

Big fan of short but agree with this[DOUBLEPOST=1390339349][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well he played when we bear them 2-1 and also played at St Jamea where he was brilliant, only last min equaliser cost us

Not sure what your point is

Least we will have Gardner to come in I guess though, spot on mate
I want Gardner away as much as the next man, he's f***ing useless but he ain't going anywhere until the summer so if Gus wants to bring players in and Cattermole going helps with that then so be it.

Even then, I dare bet that Cattermole would be the best in his position in the Championship, and Bridcutt isn't.

Bar the odd fuck up, Cattermole is decent enough at this level. I'm not his biggest fan, but he's usually effective enough. Peddle him in the summer, fine, but it seems like a bit of a gamble facing into a relegation scrap.

I agree completely. The only thing which would really make me accept it wilfully is if it allows us to sign Ki. If that happens, Bridcutt comes in and Colback signs a new contract... well, we still have to hope that Bridcutt does the business. And on that we are relying on Gus.

Yeah seen him leave the ground after that game and he was full off hell. He was the same after the Southampton game too by all accounts. He doesn't have the mental strength to handle the pressure and crowd at the SOL. Seems to completely meltdown after a mistake and is unable to recover. Amazingly thought, this doesn't seem to happen away from home.

How many of his red cards have come away from home?

Off the top of my head Wigan, Newcastle, Hull, MK Dons all away. Can only think of Birmingham at home.

Edit - Portsmouth away as well. Seems to me he loses his head and control a lot more away from home

Because our owner pushed for the new ruling to come in re wages, and now we have to stick to it. This is about freeing wages up and not the fees imo

We have a shitload of players out of contract at the end of the season, its not as if we're going to be in financial meltdown by getting in the players we want now, whilst still having those nuggets on the payroll for another 5 months, then we can fuck them off.

£5m is fantastic business if it's right. I'd have let him go for half that

Time for the lad to move on, Poyet will bring Bridcutt in

People on here quick to criticise cattermole and wish him goodbye but again short memories.
Play golf with him and he's a top lad.. People forgetting that he's one of our longer serving players and actually cares for the club
Still got his best years ahead of him IMO

Ive maintained throughout that he needed to introduce consistency into his play over a reasonable number of games. He has managed to keep himself on the pitch which is a plus....however he did get himself booked stupidly last week. Although he's had some very good games he's had some mares along the way as well - so if he goes he'll be precious little by way of a loss

of course that could be the home ground advantage - ref not so keen to send off a player at home than away.

Aye, thats clearly what I meant. Fukin ell man...

I know that but being serious I don't think Short can be compared with Sir Bob. More money floating round now but our old Chairman stopped us from kicking on when Reidy was in charge. I think our current owner is just getting a bit pissed off with getting his fingers burnt by the Gyans and Bents of this world

I was just thinking of reason times mate. I know he has massive history but at home of late he literally meltdowns on the pitch. Never seen a PL football player do that to the extent that he has within the last 2 games.
