Really? I'm a bit old, so forgive me if I've got this wrong, but I can't remember it too much beyond the 70's. It's still a Cockney tune though...

It is a cockney tune but we used to sing it with north east accents :):)(i'd say geordie but that would spark another totally different debate!).
I always remember on the bus we used to bang our beer bottles and cans together for the rhythm section.

If somebody would play the piano i'd gladly get on the pitch at half time with a microphone and rattle through a few verses.:)

Ha'way mate, you're hardly in any position to be giving shit to people for embarrassing chants.

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/dong-wong-song-perfect.605254/

"Dong Won who's he, he's fan-riffic (gong!)"

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/for-tonight.686380/

"where sunderland and there is a place where going too
hey mr matin o'niell, we'll sing a song for you"

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/new-sunderland-chant.538442/

"with Asamoah Gyan here, Asamoah Gyan there, here, every f**king where
with Darren Bent here, a Darren Bent there, here, there, every f**king where"

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/song-for-ellis-short.793984/page-2#post-15606897 (Bit of a rip off of number 2)

"Hey Mr Ellis Short,
we'll sing a song for you,
coz no other chairmen compares to you"

And I think this is my favourite...

LOL. Wow you must have some time on your hands.

Theres a difference between writing it and actually going and singing it, they are all very shit i agree, but to be fair they are / were still all actually about our players or staff and are still far better than that shit taylor chant.

Did you make it up or something ?
Sorry if you did and i offended you, as i said it must of taken you ages to come up with the words mate

The tune appears to be the universal chant that has taken over British football grounds similair to the Sloop John B one a year or two ago.

As for the words for this one....

But then again anti NUFC songs have mostly been more popular than pro SAFC ones. Shame.

All this "the mancs were loud the south stand wasn't" and vice versa shit is bollocks.
It's all relevant to where in the ground you sit.
I was in the south and could barely hear the mancs singing yet I could clearly see scores of them clapping along and bouncing about to something so it was obvious they were.
I've also sat upstairs in the prem concourse the season before the south stand move and could say the same of the swc I could see they were singing but you couldn't hardly hear a word.

Maybe it's a lot to do with acoustics between the two ends and i fully understand that.
I was half way between the two though.
Cant be arsed to read the rest of the thread as its becoming very repetative and boring.

Question is marra, were you singing where you were sat on the half way line ? If not you have no place to slagg us that WERE singing in the SS.

Fckin loved it me and could hardly hear Man Utd.... I'm sure they were but I couldn't hear them because I was to busy singing mesell.

The chants need to slow down. It's not a race. It gets to a point that some people can't keep up and they just stop. Wise men say should be sang loud and proud, but not in a hurry.

This. We've ruined good chants over the past few years by singing them too quick.

I wasn't slagging anyone off, just telling it how it is/was from that part of the ground.

Read the thread then.
I was singing "We're geordies, we're mental, we're off our f**king heads" but none of the East Stand Massive joined in.
 I moved my ST from there years ago.. If you haven't got a tartan blanket and a flask of tea you don't fit in.

Get queer looks if you so much as cough. Should have come to the SS and you woudnt have noticed Utd out-singing us

I said earlier in the thread the East Stand people are rock solid.
They don't make much noise but years of red n white pain is etched on their faces!! In the antiques world it'd be called patina.

I still think something is missing from the ground at the moment though.

They are mate...just very quiet. If the rest of the ground joined in with the SS and SW corner, the thing you think is missing would be found.
