can't possibly imagine why a bowler would want to take out a catcher, usually the bowler to captain argument is the other way around... wtf has happened to them all
 

This series is a joke. Swann goes home mid-tour, Carberry is playing when he has no right to be a test cricketer, Root gets dropped, Prior gets dropped, Rankin is picked despite not being fully fit, and the selectors seem to have forgotten about Graham Onions.

We are a shambles and the management need to take responsibilty.

Muddled thinking right through the set up. Doesn't look like there has been any planning or organisation from the end of the last test in England to getting out to Oz.
It's interesting the bits and pieces you pick up from the commentary. On about England's back room army of staff, dieticians with cookbooks printed for the tour, coaches for everything and yet we are an absolute shambles. £20m a year pumped into team England too....

The BBC match report lists all of Australia's first-innings fightbacks in the series. Whilst performances have been very poor, in every single game, England have created openings and failed to take them. How different the series oculd have been on day 1.

Brisbane: 100-5 to 295 all out

Adelaide: 257-5 to 570-9 dec

Perth: 143-5 to 385 all out

Melbourne: 164-9 to 204 all out

Sydney: 97-5 to 326 all out

Brisbane: 82-2 to 136 all out & 130-3 to 179 all out

Adelaide: 111-3 to 172 all out

Perth: 190-4 to 251 all out

Melbourne: 202-4 to 255 all out & 131-4 to 179 all out

It's scary how the middle and lower order have just fallen apart. Not used to batting against real pace.
 
Have the pages on how to get smith and haddin out been ripped out of Andy flower's master plan? Two fairly average players we seem clueless to deal with!

Not great, his first spell he was dropping a bit short then in his second he was bowling a couple of full tosses per over. Similar to most games I've seen him play in England, thrown in too early in my opinion (desperation). Bowled a few good balls but couldn't create any pressure. Smith hit a full toss for 6 to go to 99 so you're thinking just keep it tight, let him sweat a bit on 99. Next ball full toss hoicked to midwicket for 4.

Smith and Haddin went to hit him out of the attack too.

Like Johnson. The fucker was a laughing stock until this series now he's some sort of world class bowler. Strange.

Be interesting too see how the Aussies do against South Africa who I believe they play next.
