I've been defending him until now, but it's becoming clearer and clearer that Fletcher and Borini are better strikers. We paid another 8m on another Wickham, but much older. I really hope it's a case of needing a season to adapt, but it doesn't seem encouraging until now.

I believe fletcher is a better player but he's been just as bad if not worse.

Add to the fact we create fck all and we won't win any game any time soon

Of course, but the difference is Fletcher is struggling with injuries.

What's more worrying is that Jozy never shines and doesn't look like scoring. I don't like Catts, Larsson or Bardo, but at least they have a few good games.

How long is this an excuse? He's been with no injuries for over 2 months.

Fact is, he's been very very average since his initial. 8 games or so. He's looking nothing like a £12m player for the last year.

I agree.....Fletcher has goodwill in the bank from last season whereas Altidore has none. Personally i'd flog the lot of them.....any (all) of Altidore, Fletcher, Giaccherini, Johnson.....in fact any player on the books who we can get a reasonable fee for....there's no-one who is irreplaceable in our team.

I wouldn't be sad to see anybody leave.

Every good player we have had gets sold by short and co anyway.

He missed games for Scotland a month ago for not being fit, so I don't think it's 2 months of injury free time. But I don't want to argue further, his form is nowhere near what he showed in his first season, but for me it's clear he can score goals easily and he will score. Altidore showed nothing yet to suggest he's better than Wickham, can't battle with defenders, can't create, can't score... FFS, I'm starting to miss Jones.:eek::eek:

Jones was never as bad as our fans made out either.
 
I said he was lazy weeks ago on here and go slated for it becos "i was watching on the telly and not in the ground".
JA can be standing next to their centre halves while one of their central midfielders has the ball about three yards away from him further up towards our goal and he thinks its not his responsibility as hes not a midfielder. THATS probably Rooneys greatest strengths in that hes always willing to nip back to take it off the toes of a dawdling opposition midfielder, remember when he picked Zidanes pocket?
Put a shift in first JA and then you can deflect the blame.

Pointed this out to someone who suggested Altidore "worked like a trojan".......:lol:. .......Rooney is a great role model for anyone playing up front......terrific workrate. Would love to see the distance covered stats for Altidore...he hardly broke sweat yesterday.

I think he's alright like. Gets some criticism on here that is way over the top. Worst striker we've ever had!!!? Give owa man :lol: He's a confidence player and right now its zero and it shows. He's been better than Fletcher this season, yet Fletch somehow seems to escape the shite thrown at Jozy. The ott cheering when he came on yesterday was cringe as owt
 
He was absolutely shite yesterday. Fletcher was just as shit as well.

Altidore made one good run in the full game, he ran across the box in the first half which drew two players away for Larsson to have a shot. He of course scuffed the shot. That was good play. Other than that though - terrible.
