Absolutely walloped by a shit Australian side.

Ben Stokes is the only plus point, in what has been one of the most gutless and inept performances by any English touring team in modern times.

They aren't shit like, have a word.

Real shame that. Left the the ball before which was the arm ball, and took a swipe at the wide one for pretty much the 1st time next up.

Tired mind mate, what happens when you bat for hours in 40 degrees.

Unbelievable effort by Stokes, the only chance we had is if Bell had stayed in last night.

Well played Australia, thoroughly deserved.

Watched every ball and its been very painful to watch.

There are a few that are mentally shot, Prior, Swann and Jimmy.

Presuming Broad is fit, I'd play Finn/Rankin, Bairstow for Prior and Monty for Swann.

Would like to get Ballance in there but its hard to/

Bell MUST bat at three, its fuckin ridiculous that he isn't already.

They have to make a few changes or its 5-0. I know these guys are good players and have performed well but we can leave the inquest to after the series, they need to do something to make sure it isn't a white wash/[DOUBLEPOST=1387259970][/DOUBLEPOST]

Constructive. Nice one mate.

Don't make stupid comments then.....mate.

What have I said that's stupid? Grow up man ffs.

They are shit, bang average at best, one world class player in Clarke, and a load of journeymen and pinch hitters. England should be ashamed. Before you start hoying comments around like have a word look at the last Australian side to be 3-0 up after 3 tests compared to this one.

Well thats the embarrassment complete. If it hadnt been for Stokes in this match we would have lost by 200+ runs.

Shameful and hopefully heads will roll after this series. Quite clear that Swann and Anderson are not the same players for whatever reason, they didnt have a good home series, serious questions over Cook too.

Andrew Samson, BBC Test Match Special statistician
"That is England's first century by a number six batsman since Ian Bell against Sri Lanka in Cardiff in 2011 - 34 Test matches ago."

Telling comment that - no depth to the batting but more alarmingly: how on earth have we managed to play 34 tests in 2-and-a-half years??! No wonder the players are fucked. Questions for the money-grabbing ECB perhaps

We needed to be fearless and ruthless, but we were cowardly and gutless. I called this after the summer series, the ECB are too focused on the future, throwing in Woakes and Kerrigan gave the Aussies the momentum. If you go back to my comments in the summer you'll see I saw this coming a mile off.

The posh totties at ECB will be f***ing gutted a Durham lad scored a century, his face doesn't fit the picture as he's not from the south and/or a private school. Bellends.

I noticed before and during this test there seemed to be a general opinion that a failure from Stokes would please a lot of people within 'the establishment' who feel his face doesn't fit. Wasn't it suggested he should be dropped for this game? Ridiculous thing to suggest after a decent performance in Adelaide, I'm just glad to see him cement his place in the team. We've been absolutely crying out for an all rounder since Colly retired from test cricket, and finally we've found one with interest, rather than just bowling a few dibbly dobblies like Colly could do (to great effect of course), we've got one who can hurl 90 mph bullets and actually send them in the right general direction.

If there is one real positive we can take from this series, it's finding a man who can be the 5th bowler whilst strengthening the batting line up.

Sadly I think the Durham side will be cannibalised in the next few years

We need to keep the conveyor belt moving!
