Australia v England - 3rd Test, Perth

Thoroughly outplayed.

The real frustration is that the aussies havent even been under pressure since 134-6 in the first test - and that feels like a world away. The England team seem to have lost their discipline, bite and drive, seemingly through negative leadership.

And away we go! Ashes back in Aussie hands very soon.

Honestly hard to believe what a surrender this series has been.

just cant find the right balance between attack and defence. Very fine margins.

Root's approach is far too negative and allows the opposition to get on top, Pietersen's is too aggressive and irresponsible. Bell looked like he had found the balance but then plays an unneccessary upper cut way too close to him.

Credit to Aussie. While I sort of have to believe they're not as good as they looked and we not as bad as we have been, they haven't given an inch. Once they have got on top in a match they have stayed on top, never really looked like losing momentum or giving ground, which isn't easy. Plenty times in the past England have been on top but gone for slow drawn out suffocation rather than a punch to the jugular. Even at our best the gulf between us and Australia didn't seem as deep, they always had a few strong sessions over a course of matches, we've had probably one.

Only Bell, Stokes and dropped catch aside Carberry can come out of these games with any semblance of pride as far as I'm concerned. Cook has been a ghost, KP has proven one again why for all his incredible depths of talent he's never going to be as good as he thinks he is, Prior has been nowhere now for two years if we're honest, Broad has been about as absent as the press have tried to make him, and the rest of the attack have been third rate with bat and ball. We've been trounced.
