Free ticket pisstake

I'm all for encouraging the next generation of supporters and rewarding those that deserve it (cheap family tickets, cheap student tickets, cheap oap tickets and free forces tickets), but if what I read on here is correct then I think the loyal full paying ST holders are increasingly having the piss taken out of them.

I knew the club did the odd few free tickets, but it seems far too prevalent these days.

Can I suggest that anyone that is offered a free ticket for a game please post details of it on here, including the source of the tickets, with evidence if possible.

I would like to basically compile evidence of all the giveaways in case I want to raise it with the club in the future at a liaison group meeting.
I won't be doing any of that.

Another one to the list £1 kids tickets for the Villa game. Don't mind this one personally, the more future generation the better.

I don't expect or want rewards tho. I just want my ticket for the match at a price that I'm happy with and find affordable. I prob could get there cheaper if I fart around on a week to week basis and maybe I'm just lazy but I couldn't be bothered just to save a fiver every few weeks...
This for me.

Exclusive Partnership tickets at the Stadium of Light

As part of the University’s Strategic Partnership Agreement with Sunderland Football Club, the University is allocated a limited number of tickets for each home game for University Staff.

These are premium tickets, allocated in pairs, and are based on best availability of seats within the Stadium at each game. Please note that these tickets are only available to current University of Sunderland staff and students.

This is a chance for you to enjoy a matchday experience, courtesy of our partners SAFC.

To claim your free tickets simply come along to the Gateway, City Campus at 3pm on Friday, December 6. First come first served, maximum 1 pair of tickets per person.

Sunderland V Tottenham Hotspur kicks off at the Stadium of Light on Saturday December 7 at 5.30pm.

*Tickets are not for resale under any circumstance. Tickets cannot be exchanged for any other area of the Stadium. Tickets must be used by the recipient. Please be aware of fixture date and time changes which can occur after tickets are issued . All tickets are issued subject to ticket conditions and ground regulations.
This is terrible. It never happened when I worked at the Uni. back in the 90's All these people can afford to pay for their tickets. Furthermore the Uni staff come from all over the bloody world (including Newcastle) and are not necessarily Sunderland Supporters. This should not be happening.

To counter this the club should give all season ticket holders free tickets for all cup games up to the semi finals. About time that loyalty was rewarded in some way.

As a non season ticket holder myself I absolutely agree with this, in fact, I have never understood why the club would never do this? I haven't had a season ticket since 2003 because the travelling up to the north east and back became too much of a financial burden for myself personally but fair fucks to those who still pay for one with all these other options of getting tickets surfacing.

Haven't had a chance to read all of the thread so don't know if it's already been posted, but I know that everyone who attended that Heineken suite opening on Tuesday was given a free gift bag with 2 free tickets for tomorrow.

Part of the problem is that we just don't know how many of these free / discounted tickets are in circulation. maybe the numbers are exaggerated, I don't know, but the impression is that there are loads kicking around and it is pissing people off.

In my experiences, only the kids of Mags get offered them and only Mag employees of any organisation.

This!.....Seems to be a freebie here, a discount there, turn up to this function, here's a free ticket, buy something in the club shop, here's a free ticket, not renewed this year? Here's a free ticket.

It's ridiculous.

I thought about doing that for this season. Was so pissed off at the end of last season, wasn't going to bother renewing.

Then I blindly renewed. My own decision I know but when you take the red and white specs off and look it logicallly it doesn't make sense.

Why shell out all that money when you could pick up free/cheap tickets for a lot of the games?

Because we're mugs who will go back regardless.

Exactly the same as me. Shouldn't have renewed in hindsight and that's a horrible thing to say about the club is love.[DOUBLEPOST=1386334905][/DOUBLEPOST]
After 21 years having a season ticket I decided to give mine up last season - lads changing jobs, moving away etc helped with the decision. I went to 16 out of the 19 league games and was offered free tickets for the other 3 - I paid £74 quid all season.

See I would have to actually see evidence to support such a figure. Would be outrageously difficult to get to that amount of games for such a low figure!

It's about time the club connected with season card holders and become transparent. It's a f***ing cloak and dagger club. The marketing strategy is appalling.

Aye. I got offered a couple through work connections etc. If I was to do this properly I would have to turn down any opportunity for free tickets.

rang the club shop just now. they said the free tickets are only available on production of a valid 'i am a tosser' ID card.

1/10.[DOUBLEPOST=1386335205][/DOUBLEPOST]
So when I phoned up the club shop and asked about this deal, and she said it doesn't exist, then she was lying?

So she gave them to us out of the kindness of her heart, did she?
