What was wrong with Brian Lara, the only problem was the bowling. Was f***ing solid bowling out the computer especially in the test games.

I had teams restricted to 20 all out after 50 overs all the time. There was a spot that if you bowled they would never score runs off just hit that then let them occasionally hit some runs so I could get the wickets. My games lasted till lunch on the second day.

Even by PS1 standars that was awful and not totally convinced by 'Don Bradman 14' either it just shows how badly a Cricket version of Pro-Evo or FIFA is needed.

Did anyone play Graham Gooch's cricket on the Amiga? I used to bowl them out for 20/30 in each innings with the medium paced swingers and rack up a quick 500  I only once had a game that lasted until lunch on the first day, don't think they got the overs in the session quite right.

The problem with the bowling on that was that the proper bowlers couldn't take wickets against the computer, but the part timers could. I used to end up chucking Graeme Hick on in the 3rd over and he would knock them over with ease. I'm sure he once ended a match with figures of 20 for 19.

Sooner or later, the creators of these games will come up with a version that is a proper compromise of realistic game play while still be fun.

Deary me  the difference in quality there.[DOUBLEPOST=1385737357][/DOUBLEPOST]
I was 7 so, not reall into cricket then ;)

But aye the graphics are shite every about it looks shite
That's the first time I've ever had to see the umpire raise his finger to give the batsman out when he has been bowled.

Not sure we will ever see a top cricket simulator as simply not enough people would buy it. To be fair the game doesn't really lend itself to gaming. Football gets away with it as you can easily shorten a match to a few minutes, cricket simply wouldn't work like that.

The Brian Lara game I had for PS2 was shite. You could hit any kind of delivery 360° around the pitch, 3 tiers back into the MCG.

I regularly used to end 10 over games 360-0, then just bowl yorkers at them and skittle them
