Trott has left the tour !

Whilst I genuinely feel for Trott and hope he gets well soon, I really don't think you can single out Warner for criticism here. For years the Aussies beat us and we craved for our players to show more aggression to gain a psychological edge. Warner told the press Trott's dismissal was poor and weak. He was spot on it was, and he was trying to make sure he had the edge over him for the rest of the summer. I have watched Trott on the field before and he is often at the front of the queue giving the verbals out. How did he not know the subjects of his tirades aren't suffering from some kind of stress related illness.

The real villains here IMO are the England medical team. If as they say this has been ongoing for a while, they should surely have identified that Trott was not fit for an Ashes tour. Take away aggression from the Ashes and it simply wouldn't be worth bothering with.

Surely trott will have known how he was feeling before this game even started - if he didnt feel mentally fit enough he should have put his hand up and said so - but agree the medical team should have known this could happen.

Would make such horrendous comments if Trott had cancer and was sent home? He has a serious illness, he isn't being soft. Mental health issues eat away at you, and, in many cases leads to suicide/self harm.

People thinking Trott is soft are worryingly out of touch, do a bit of research first before commenting; I wouldn't wish any form of mental illness on my worst enemy!

What a ridiculous thing to say. Mightn't it also just be as likely that the player himself might struggle being away from his family for months at a time, even if he also knew in advance that he might have to go on tours, and particularly with all the stupid shit they are having to put up with from the oppo, and not just the crowds any more. Admittedly he should prolly make a statement pointing out they were made before Trott went home

We know that already, maybe better that he, they and let's face it our players too, think before opening their mouths. It has gone too far in the last couple of years, yes you had the odd incident with idiots like Botham and Chappelli in the past but it's most of them now thinking it's an integral part of the game ffs.

And the barmy army/fanatics football style crap doesn't help either. They should concentrate more on the cricket. Don't know what Fred would have said.

What about if it's been "ongoing" since before he became and England player and that he has "managed" the illness throughout that time? Are they villans for ever calling him up? Are they villains for taking him on tour despite there being no discernible difference in his manner prior to the test?[DOUBLEPOST=1385392935][/DOUBLEPOST]You do wonder if his illness has become worse in the last 12 months, or his ability to "manage" it has reduced. If you look at his stats since the South Africa series in 2012 he is averaging 38 with 2 centuries and only 26 in his last 6 tests with a highest score of 59 - assuming that the illness affects his form of course, it could just be that he's in a poor run of form but he hasn't been the solid, dependable Trott of old

How could they do that? It is down to the player to make that decision and him alone. If he had been otherwise inexplicably left out of the squad some sort of explanation would have to be made which he might not have wanted for reasons of privacy, which he might have wanted to avoid, apart from the fact that to do so would immediately draw a line under his international career at least, when he might still have felt he was managing the situation well and could overcome it.

Rubbish. There is some aggression in playing the game, but what it has descended to is pathetic, kids' stuff.

They could have omitted him by inventing some non existent injury which can only be cured with several months rest. The only way to find out if Trott could manage the situation was to test him in it. He hasn't been able to-don't think blame can be laid on anyone.

Well they haven't got an idiot like Flintoff as captain, Cook is a hell of a guy.

What I will say is Root, Bell and KP need to all step up and show their class, KP needs to take on the responsibility, there is no good getting out cheaply and saying that's just the way he plays. Get in, stay in and play.
