Trott has left the tour !

Depression has nothing to do with growing a backbone, I've suffered myself and it's absolutely horrendous, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
In this politically correct world I knew that someone would take offence.

Let's try this one again.

Trott: hope the lad gets the treatment he needs; however irrespective of how sensitive a soul some of you are the Aussies will have a f***ing field day with this.

Warner will be a hero after his comments and walking ten feet tall. That's the reality.

England look like they were bullied out of the first test. We look weak as fuck and the Aussies will give it more of the same in the second test.

At the minute there are now massive question marks over the England players temperament and you can bet that teams like the windies and others will be keeping a close eye on this.

Clearly if his head is not right it's better that he's gone - for our chances.

Hope he gets sorted. Doesn't matter waft your profession is this shit can strike anyone.

Tell you what the lads who are left should be fired up for the next test like.

I know Warner didn't know but this is why you never criticise people like that, you don't know what is inside their had and what they are going through[DOUBLEPOST=1385370177][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm not being over sensitive at all, and if the Aussies take that attitude and say anything about it they will be up in front of the ICC.

Spot on, England where outplayed and bullied by an aggresive Aussie side.

Warner wasnt to know. What he said was probably based purely upon Trott's performances recently. Warner shouldnt have said it in public but as a pro sportsman (especially in a sport as psychological as cricket) he is within his rights to try and expose weaknesses.

If the Aussies or their media continue to exploit Trott's condition then they will not come out of it looking very good at all.

Hope Trott gets the help he needs. Must be a fairly horrific experience at the best of times without having to live with it under the spotlight of an Ashes series

Spot on, although I don't think there's any major problems with the temperament.

This is why I would go with Stokes over Ballance as the replacement. Big Ben is one of the more spikey characters in the side, much more likely to get a warning for punching one of them than cracking under the pressure, and just so happens he can bowl quickly as well.[DOUBLEPOST=1385372064][/DOUBLEPOST]

I hope they do, I really hope they go over the top. Can't think of any better way to get the England side up for the fight.

Before any daft get starts having a go read Tresses autobiography. A truly graphic insight into this horrific type of situation. Hope we stick Warners comments straight back down the bastards throat!
wish i was playing, i'd be bowling at his head....

This. It's a f***ing horrible place to be when it's been building for a while and you reach the crunch time. Hope he can make a quick recovery, I wouldn't mind betting his poor recent form has a hell of a lot to do with this.

If the Aussies do have a field day with this as some have suggested, then they'll have reached new lows that I thought even Australians were incapable of.

spot on, he averaged well over 50 until last summer. he has looked a pale shadow since.......
I know first hand what depression is like, anyone who doesn't treat it with respect needs to look a themselves.

I suppose the only question mark over this is whether he should have toured in the first place. The quotes are suggesting he's been struggling with this for a while - not touring would have been far less disruptive.

That said, hope he gets well soon and back on form - vital player when he's 100%

So, who comes in?

Cook
Carberry
Bell
Pietersen
Bairstow
Root
Prior
Bresnen
Broad
Swann
Anderson

would be my team for the second test

Stokes should come in adds to bowling and batting

So what happens team wise?

Bell up to 3, Bairstow in is the more likely option. Root could also move up to 3.

Ballance in at 5/6, or would you go Stokes for an extra bowling option?

Stokes for me, definitely in the next test match anyway. Unless Bresnan is fit as they are similar players.....

Agreed with Stokes, and I'd have Bresnan in regardless if he's fit. I suppose if he is fit he'll be playing in the warm up game this week.

The Aussies targeted Swann knowing that we only had 3 seamers, so if Swann was going about we'd be forced to over bowl the seamers. Stokes would certainly help alleviate the pressure on the other 4 a little

I'd go for Bell to 3 and stokes at 6/7.

Although bairstows problem in the summer was the straight ball and LBW/playing across his pads. Unlikely to come into play as much in Aus

They do not have a like for like replacement, they either have to bring in Ballance and bat him at 3 when he has bated at 5/6 for past two seasons in county cricket for Yorkshire. Or they reshuffle the order bat one of the established batsmen at 3 and bring in Ballance Bairstow, or Stokes if they think they require a fifth bowler on a flat Adelaide pitch.

Best wishes to Trott, obvious problems there.

Warner is a prize A* c*nt, hopefully our lads will recover and ram his words down his throat.
