Trott and the short ball

Bearing in mind the working over he got on English pitches a few months back, it was obvious what was coming on quicker tracks over there. You think he would have been a bit better prepared than it looked. In local cricket you get grief for backing off to square leg instead of getting in line when someone with a bit of pace comes at you. I don't see any difference in moving towards point and dangling the bat down leg side. It was a wicket waiting to happen. Get ducking lad!

Thought that was exactly what that bowling machine Merlin could do.
Thought that machine was designed for spin?

Don't think there is a bowling machine that can full create the slangy type skiddy bounce of Johnson like.

Bowling machines I've been on can do the pace, but the bounce is more up and down.

His second innings was shocking. If he cant duck it then he should back up his claims of not being scared and just take a few.

Give some credit to the bowlers though, who have worked him out and executed plans well.

Warner making a prick of himself in the presser afterwards, fat little twat.

He was all owa the place, needs to put on some thicker body armour and dig in.

Warner said he'd been watching him in the nets doing exactly this.

No wonder we prepared a load of slow green wickets last summer.

I would imagine he has been practising for such deliveries. Problem is it would very hard to re-create Johnson's pace, angle, and bounce.
This is Johnson mind. Pretty much trashed before this test. Was f***ing awful the last series over there and could very much revert to type if someone goes after him.

He admitted after the game he was really nervous to start off. Amazing what being gifted a wicket will do for your confidence.

Duck, leave or get in the way should be the approach. They will soon change plans if we don't play shots against the bouncer.[DOUBLEPOST=1385327808][/DOUBLEPOST]

Changed his run up (which has helped hugely) and now is basically being told to bowl the short ball (which he can do well tbf)
