So basically you have zero appreciation of the defensive side of the game.

Are you American by any chance?
Yiu couldnt be more wrong, one of my favorite players is chanderpaul

I used to love test cricket, would just rather watch ODI/T20 n these days, didnt realise it was a crime tbh

As would a lot of people. hence the crowds

Aye fair enough marra, each to their own. I reckon ODIs should be done away with personally. And just have tests and T20s.

I'd like it to be known that I'd rather watch Bangladesh v Zimbabwe in a Test Match than India v Pakistan in an ODI.

Each to their own like but the OP is talking out of his arse..... Or he's Virat Kohli.

Like you say each to their own,but I would imagine every India V Pakistan ODI is jammed packed with people watching it.

Where as I think more people watch my Saturday morning over 40s football team, than Bangladesh v Zimbabwe test match so think you might be in the minority there mate.[DOUBLEPOST=1396765110][/DOUBLEPOST]
He's in form at the moment, yes.....let's see if he steps up to the plate tomorrow.

To be fair he has been in form for the last 2/3 years.

I didn't mean it so literally. What I was implying is that Test Cricket > ODI & T20 Cricket by a country f***ing mile.

Yeah I know mate neither did I,just making the point that more people prefer 20/20 than test cricket these days.

Crowds over the world prove this.

Ashes test cricket is great to watch, but test matches now in the sub-continent are boring, teams are getting 600 batting first on too good wickets, with no bounce, too many of them games are tedious to watch.

Yeah, unfortunate though it is - you're right about that.

I could still sit for 5 days and watch it though

I don't mind 20/20 like, it is entertaining, but you do get some absolutely awful games in that as well.

I'm talking about the red ball. Couldn't give a toss about laugh and giggle shit.
Were talking about him as being the best one day batsmen in the world. He's still got plenty to prove in the test arena.

Mind managed to average 68 in SA albeit in 2 tests. Also 71 in NZ and 37 in Aus. Mind the 37 in Aus is better than what our shambles did.

You sort of unravelled your own argument there. Only two tests in SA so can't really judge and 37 in Oz...... Which is quite ordinary really when that was the tour where there were centuries galore for the Aussies - meaning the pitches were decent for batting.

Fwiw I fully expect him to be a tough nut to crack this summer, just forgive me for not getting a hard-on over some decent performances in sub-continent one dayers.[DOUBLEPOST=1396797732][/DOUBLEPOST]As for the thread being about Kohli the one day player - I'm just being subjective, broadening the horizons of the thread, that's what this place is for. A good owld debate.

Plus, Test Cricket is and always will be the measure of a good cricketer. Just ask Michael Bevan.

Would be nice if we could give the bloke credit where credit is due, rather than finding ways of knocking him.

Think his performances in all forms of the game over the last 2 years deserve that tbf.
