If Trott fails in the next few, then Gary Balance needs to be considered with a reshuffle of the batting order... maybe Bell to 3 even though its not his preferred position.who do we replace him with?

Was through the summer also, only Bell did anything. Too complacent, they never get dropped but the bowlers change all the time. Trott has been found out and he needs to be replaced to go and find his technique and confidence.f***ing shambolic. When is one of our batsmen going to step up and do something? Been out of form for ages now.
Onions should have been there, another fantasic decision from the 'selectors'

This is a disgraceful and embarrassing performance so far.

I knew this nacker would be on this morning to claim everything is hunky dory if we just make one or two changes.Just caught up, nothing day tbh, went pretty much as it was supposed too (and as the 1st two days should have). Few things to note.....
They have two batsmen, Rogers, Watson, Smith and Bailey aren't up to it.
Tremlett isn't up to it, Bresnan plays in Adelaide if fit.
Trott is the main worry, I would like to see him after the match admitting as much and calling Warner a bellend.
No panicing please.
I notice nobody is calling Clarke a defensive naive idiot because he didn't 400 declare ahead. Interesting.
Said it ages ago, We won this summer on account of Australia being poor, not us being good. Facing two competent sessions, something which Australia couldn't put together all summer, and we're trying to save the match.
There was this attitude that it didn't matter how we won, just that we did; but this is why it mattered. All Aus have had to do is actually show up for two days and those cracks, ignored because we won over the summer, have been blown wide open. And all we can do is pray that Australia are rubbish for at least half the series again. If not, we're not going to do anything other than grind out draws at best.
This England team aren't good enough to beat a team that plays consistently well. Flat track bullies over reliant on two batsmen and a good but not so good as to make up for batting shortcomings attack.
The only hope now is rain, but we'll also need it backed up with a performance from at least 2 of our batsmen. Cook and KP are the ideal men for it if they can find themselves some form between now and the start of play tonight. In terms of ability, and on this pitch, there's no reason why they can't both notch up 3 figures and give us half a chance of hanging on.Safe to say the first test is over? Or is there still a smidgen of hope?
Cook and KP will need to bat for near eternity to have any chance IMO.

We have been outplayed in all departments, our squad selection is wrong and our preparation appears to have been poor to nonexistent. I think panicking is understandable in the circumstances. Some urgent changes are going to be needed to avoid losing this series 3 or 4 nowt.
And yes 561 is a totally over-defensive total, I will PMSL if it rains for two days. How many overs are they going to need to clean up this feckless bunch though?
What did carberry do wrong, obviously he didn't get a huge score.Inglun's only player who can take any sort of self-respect from this test thus far is that 27 year old medium pace bowler from Nottingham who enjoys cheating. I'm sure he shall go on to make 350 with the bat, tonight.
You spelled panicking wrong, so can get off your high horse Giles Brandreth.Ooooh, get you! I'd spell it with a k, like.
Yes, look how I'm right behind them with my 'Trott is the main worry' and 'Tremlett isn't up to it' craic, it's like Comical Ali all over again.
What changes to the squad would you make then?
If one or two changes isn't enough for you, what would you do then? You going to scrap half the team then?
Pity nee Bresnan to back him up.Inglun's only player who can take any sort of self-respect from this test thus far is that 27 year old medium pace bowler from Nottingham who enjoys cheating. I'm sure he shall go on to make 350 with the bat, tonight.
Fair point. His first innings was decent, and he did what an opener is supposed to do, just see off the new ball and put a few runs on the board. Wicket in the second innings was abit cheap, but let's be realistic the game was/is well beyond England anywayWhat did carberry do wrong, obviously he didn't get a huge score.
But he batted well, Australia changed it up and johnson bowled brilliantly to get him out, the second innings well that just a kick in the balls.
Anderson, Swann and Tremlett have been absolutley f***ing woeful like. Swann looks poor compared to Nathan Lyon ffs, and Anderson who has spearheaded the England bowling attack so well for so long looks poor compared to well, everyone. Less said about Tremlett the better. You spelled panicking wrong, so can get off your high horse Giles Brandreth.
A couple of changes alone will make no difference, Cook and Flower need to look at our tactics. Doggedly sticking to a 'plan' when it isn't working for one thing, there needs to be more captaincy on the field. We looked devoid of ideas to dislodge Warner and Clarke, whereas Clarke is constantly adapting field placing to create uncertainty in the mind of the batsman. Do they really think our bowling attack is good enough to roll over Australia on a wicket that hasn't been prepared for them?
As for batting, yes I would drop Trott as the Aussies have him figured out. Play an extra opener at 3 like Aus did wth Watto. Root. Or drop Cook down the order. Pity Compton isn't there. Yesterdays man according to you, yet we took the older carberry. The bugger's also need to get in the nets with a bowling machine serving up 90mph on or around midriff. Cook needs to come up with a sticky plaster for his weakness to the angled delivery asap, maybe open up his guard.
Or we could just keep trying the same old predictable, conservative shite...[DOUBLEPOST=1385210944][/DOUBLEPOST]
Pity nee Bresnan to back him up.
