Pietersen Interview

nobody performs in every match like, sachin tendulkar, ricky ponting, hashim amla etc are world class occasionally, sometimes they get out cheaply.

thats cricket.

Nah those were world class consistently. Amla still is. Alma only young but I'd say all those three are a level above KP. Tendulkar obviously, goes without saying, and Pointing has over half as many runs as KP again.

When KP bats well, England usually win. That's how good he is, he's a match winner. But he also gives himself away cheaply a lot more than his top class peers.

Please tell me you are not suggesting pietersen isn't a world class batsmen. For a guy who plays so aggressively, is every teams "one to get" and plays most of his cricket in England I'd say his stats are fantastic!

Yes he sometimes gives his wicket away but you are going to get that with someone who plays so attacking. And the fact he is the way he is is why no other player can change a game as quickly as he can.

I'm not. I'm just saying the three mentioned were better, and Amla on track to be too. KP is world class without question, just not as often/consistently as those mentioned above.

Pietersen is class but he doesnt half throw his wicket away at times

His shit innings far outweigh his good ones

Pietersen has passed 50 in 57% of his 99 games. That is just 3% less than Sachin Tendulkar and almost exactly the same as Viv Richards. Two of the greatest batsmen of all time.

What absolute poppycock! His good to great innings that have won England countless tests and ODI's are outweighed by the few average innings he gives his wicket away?

Fair one. I've been a massive fan of alms for a while now. One of the few players I can watch fill his boots against us without getting annoyed [DOUBLEPOST=1385056067][/DOUBLEPOST]

You've had a bit of a mare with this one mate.

Do you not think he throws his wicket away far too easy like?

No batsman in the world can bat like KP yep he throws his wicket sometimes and should've had at least 6 more 100's than he's got due to stupid shots in his 90's but not one batsman in the world will and succeed in his switch hit to left hand when the ball has left the bowlers hand and hit a big, big 6. He is a batting genius but he's sloppy at times.

Yes. But people only pick up on the rash and overly aggressive shots that he gets out to whilst forgetting the vast majority of his success is also down to this approach/style,
agreed. he's aggressive and always looking to score and is exciting to watch due to this, we've got a lot of very good stayers that can plod along and score big nit you always need one player with KP's style.
