I found this that someone posted on Twitter, don't know if it's been posted but it looks like a snippet of Fergie's book and what he thought of Sunderland. Is this real or fake? Probably real though knowing Fergie.

Fake surely. We were after scholes when he had more than just afew years left !

If it is real it doesnt say much for Fergie as he kept those "injury prone players who are liable to make mistakes" at United for most of their careers :oops::rolleyes:
 
I was outraged and offended when we failed to sign Paul scholes. :lol:

I like fergie but Christ what is he talking about when he says we the fans have ideas above our station? One of the more well humoured and least deluded bunch of people going. Must have had a port or ten too many that night. The thought of Paul scholes joining sunderland was never taken seriously by the fans.

Aye a nar but that was when he was manager, he has nothing to lose in telling all ;) it wouldn't surprise me that's all I'm saying haha.

Remember seeing a Roy Keane quote where the teambus pulled up at Roker Park and SAF supposedly remarked on what a big club we were. Mind you I was always slightly dubious of that one anarl, not so much because it'd be improbable he said it, more because it just seemed to suit the Keano love-in and the narrative at the time more than owt else
