Central Defender
to be honest I wanted him instead of di canio. sick of people going on about how he has never managed in the prem but both the Southampton and Swansea managers hadn't worked in the prem and they have done ok.

Bloody hope so! The majority will be on board if he smashes the mags. But vice-versa I supposePoyet will be fine and keep us up for the better!
As stated elsewhere, I don't think he's the man for the job.
I also think the huge difference between him and PDC in terms of tactics (different formations and approaches) betrays a lack of vision and direction from the DoF position.
Very much this. I think people want to see our managers fail at times. This was certainly the case with PDC, especially in the media; even sadder when it's your own "fans" wanting itHe hasn't even been appointed yet and half of our fans have already written him off, and people wonder why we can't attract a top manager! No fucker in the right mind would touch us with a barge pole and I can't say I'd blame them. Give the fella a bloody chance!
Amazes me this type of comment. I'll be onto my 28th manager when the lad is appointed tomorrow, in 42 years - all of them have been bigged up, talked the talk but almost all have failed to do very much of note - and out of all 27 the best I can offer up is 2 x 7th placed finishes.Very much this. It's really strange. You would think that there wouldn't be 15% of people on here who haven't got an opinion on such a major decision. People who come onto message boards generally have an opinion. I really don't get anyone who chose that option.15% not arsed? Sunderland fans?
Absolutely, it really saddens me that we seem to have a fair few "I told you so" fans that are quite happy for a manager to fail in order to give themselves a pat on the back and to point score against fans that are willing to give someone a fair crack of the whip.Very much this. So you expect 100% of fans, who have followed the club through leaner and leaner, to all, without question and without reservation to get behind the new manager? You clearly live in Utopia.Absolutely, it really saddens me that we seem to have a fair few "I told you so" fans that are quite happy for a manager to fail in order to give themselves a pat on the back and to point score against fans that are willing to give someone a fair crack of the whip.
