Judging by the weather its going to be Whitburn for both really. Shame as Washington 2XI have only lost twice all season but had 2 more games abandoned due to weather, Bloody robbed! :p

Sacriston or Washington.

close to where I live so potentially more top flight games to watch next season.

Played at whitburn as a junior. Plenty of cracking lads there: oxy, turns, craig smith et al. Delighted for them whstever happens. Club in a great place compared to mid nineties when I played[DOUBLEPOST=1378576207][/DOUBLEPOST]Whitburn 1s win by 29 runs

What are the final league positions. Any idea who will come down?

Whats the craic with the DCL?

Think only one goes up. So Whitburn will replace South Shields in the NEPL Premier.

Has the DCL been linked to the NEPL? Or not?
As far as I'm aware the DCL hasnt been linked to it. Fascinated too see how the split ends up, especially how Durham City do.

Looking likely that Durham will fall into the bottom half - failing results having gone their way today. Going off that, it'll be a 14 and a 12. Thought they'd have just done a split of two 13's with one team having a free week.

I do hope in the long run they try to link all divisions. Would certainly say the likes of Burnmoor, Esh Winning, Tudhoe, etc are capable of competing in NEPL D1.

Yes Whitburn go up and South Shileds have come down. Same with the 2nd team. Looking at the table Whitburn 2nd team go up to and Gateshead Fell come down

How it will work :-
Next Season (2014) DCL splits 14 in Div 1 & 12 in Div 2. At end of Season top 2 teams are promoted into NEPL Div 1. This then makes NEPL Div 1 12 teams for start of 2015 Season.
At end of 2015 Season - Promotion and Relegation between NEPL Div 1 & DCL Div 1.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that

Didnt sacriston win the 2nd team league?

They certainly did. According to the report on the Whitburn website, Washington didn't make much of an effort to get the game going and it was reduced due to a late start. From that report it appears Washington then blocked their 30 overs for just 60 - making no attempt to make a game of it. Pretty dissapointing for Whitburn I'd imagine. Whitburn made a sporting declaration at 160ish, leaving it at just over 5 an over for the chase, more than gettable.

Surely the 2nd team leagues will just match the teams in the 1st team league? Not sure it would be possible to sort the fixtures/grounds if the 2nd team fixtures aren't just the reverse of the 1st team.

No I am pretty sure the 1st and 2nd team leagues are seperate entities and promotion/relegation remains independent. The Northumberland/Tyneside league does it and they seem to manage the fixtures no problem.

Some interesting comments on the WCC site. Sounds a little like sour grapes but they were tweeting pics of the whitburn lads clearing the pitch on saturday. Doesn't the Washy 2s captain get on here?

The belief at Whitburn is that the seconds aren't going up.
