LVCC Yorkshire v Durham

brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Some contrast to Middlesex. Starting to think the unthinkable. Young local players doing the business, and onions to come back. Got to keep them all next season

Any chance that we'll be the Championship game on TV? Or is there a big division two Lancs Essex clash?

Well done to Durham who outbowled and outbatted us in the first innings which was where the game was won.

At least the title will be won by a northern side.

I have to admit, if it can't be us, I'd rather it was Yorkshire than Sussex or Middlesex like.

The North have done alright in recent years too, since our double.

Agree with this as before Durham I always supported Yorkshire.

What a game though, 33 wickets 1300+ runs in 4 days, quality.

Anyone see Martin Emmerson on Twitter slating the pundits who had us down for relegation?

Winning the CC would be an amazing accomplishment considering out financial situation and beating Yorkshire for it will just make it sweeter.

Long way to go, and I think we need onions back, with stokes missing

What an excellent 4 days of cricket that was. The lads were fantastic and outplayed the Tykes for at least 3 and a half days of those 4 days.

The crowd for the first 3 days was the largest (and loudest) I've seen in a CC game for years, and very partisan, clapping and cheering every run Yorkshire scored, even the byes. Although the majority of them left quickly and quietly after we bowled them out on the last day.

It was a fantastic all round team effort with everyone playing a part and working their socks off for each other, a joy to see and once again proving ALL the critics wrong, especially those crying out for wholesale changes to the batting order. The bowling was superb again, to bowl a team like that out twice on a flat dead pitch was a remarkable achievement, every one of our bowlers deserves a huge pat on the back, it was baking hot at times and they all stuck to the plan and bowled to the field, even if it meant sacrificing a few runs here and there, an effort made even more remarkable having lost Woody for their 2nd innings.

It was good to see Dickie Bird looking fit and well all game, he was wandering round the ground chatting to one and all, he even had a few good things to say about the Durham lads and admitted at the end we were the better side in this match.

Hope he isnt still telling that awful story about the mobile phone and allan lamb. He hasnt told that one many times.

Which is more than can be said for the wankers on the football pitch

I reckon Cricket forum is a happier place than PF tonight.

I'll be staying away from the PF for a while, complete and utter shitfest in there. Anyway....

Great win and great experience for our young side, playing in front of a hostile 5,000+ crowd everyday and holding it all together for a superb win. Fantastic stuff.

Strange isnt it?

We are now in September and there is still a quarter of the County championship season to go.

The season is a dog's dinner, and has been for a few years now. A couple of years ago half the championship matches had been played before June 1st.[DOUBLEPOST=1378028528][/DOUBLEPOST]

To be honest I'd be happy to hear it a couple more times in return for a half hour's chat with the bloke.

We have some gumption and backbone that other teams don't I think

I thought that from early in the season, mostly winning the tight games

I thought that declaration was a sign of that too :)

Tiredness an injury could still fettle us, but it won't be for lack of guts
