I don't get why Jimmy is on here. Surely you have Woakes and Swann on while Broad and Anderson get ready for the new cherry?

Listening to TMS on the way home and the token Aussie was saying "Watson HAS TO START in the summer". Finally the selection of Woakes and Kerrigan makes sense....

It's the first day ffs. We could still easily win this test still and go down there on the back of a 4-0.

Not talking about the way the game is going. Talking about us choosing a side that would only ever be chosen in the event the selectors didn't care about the result.

Does anyone other than Ashely Giles, Andy Flower & Alistair Cook know why Woakes is playing......?

Same way only seemingly Flower & Cook thought Onions shouldnt play at Durham.

I was stood behind KP

Mouthy Aussie "Kevin give us a waaaaaave"

Next ball. Diving catch. Applauded back to the boundary by the entire stand. Couldn't see the Aussie

Class

Stewards were wankers. Durham
Handled it far better

Aye, I'm really sure they don't care about the result.
So why didn't they choose these mighty bowlers from the off then? I mean Tremlett and Onions are fine so I can only assume, if they've been chosen to win the match, that they're better than either. Did it just take them 4 tests to come to that conclusion? Did they forget to write their names down every test?

Who said they were mighty bowlers? They have included these players because they probably want to have a proper look at them when the series is in the bag.
Still doesn't mean they don't care about the result though.

They don't know that they're good enough basically, so they're trying them out. In a series in which only one batsman on your side has an avg over 40, and in which your bowlers have been crucial for that reason, takes some real insight/faith to assume you can change half that attack with unproven players and still have a good chance of winning like
