Anyone feeling sorry for Australia...

I think in certain tests we'll start blending one or two in over the next few years.

We have Root, Bairstow, Broad, Cook, Compton in the current first 11 but agreed Trott, Bell, KP, Swann, Prior and Anderson will be missed.

Compton ?!?!?!?!

I don't think we have a whole lot coming through. Without Pieterson, Trott, Swann and (heaven forbid) Amderson in a few years. Or if playing significantly declined. I don't see the 19-22 year old guys with special test pedigree. Hoping they pop up like Trott not show from young superstar like Bell. Otherwise we'll have a wave of players ending careers at the same time and an inexperienced line of players in behind.

Don't worry there will be a few South Africans knocking about

When we were getting thrashed year in year out, they loved it......really loved it.

Check this pearl out from 2002.

Anyone who wanted a closer series, or has any kind of good word to say about the Aussies' chances is a Mag sympathising traitorous treacherous fifth coloumnist, who should be hung drawn and quartered on Traitors Gate.

I don't think that's too strong.

Its not that people don't want a closer series. Most do. In 2005 4 of the 5 tests were unbelievably high on tension and excitement. You can want a close series whilst still having absolutly no sympathy with them.
They watched us be shit for so long and learned nothing from it. Their lack of planning for the future, their inconsisatnt selection, picking unfit bowlers, unhappy camp, poor domestic game. I could go on. Ten years ago, they thought that they would rule cricket forever. Then things changed, and they were incapable of changing/adapting. The 'they all got old together' excuse doesn't hold water.

2005 was special, but I'd rather have a close series against someone else. When the biggest prize in cricket is at stake, winning is everything and I'd rather have a series like 2010/11 (minus Perth) every time.

Nope. 2005 was one of them there things, taking on probably the best side ever assembled and beating them. This is different. This is about grinding them into the dirt and getting some back.

In a perfect world we'll beat them by a innings at The Oval with David Warner last man out, stretchered off out cold after being bonced by Broad and falling onto his stumps, waking up to a quick 'well played chaps, unlucky' from Cooky, before falling off the stretcher and knocking himself out again.
