How did everyone else find it?
 

Thoroughly enjoyed my day, we went on Friday. We were in the temporary seating and I have to say the atmosphere in there was awesome!
 
Didn't think the atmosphere was anything to crow about but I don't know if that's more down to the make up of the crowd rather than the ground itself? Saying that I've been to OT twice and each time the atmos has been very poor. Headiney has easily the most boisterous (football like) atmosphere. Trent bridge is best all rounder.

Still had a class time (especially blagging ones way into hospitality and getting pissed with jimmy mont) and the ground is one of the most beautiful in the country. Cracking pitch which made for a very good test match.
 
Thoroughly enjoyed day one sat in the temp stand. Your right about the price like, £8o seems to much for me, even the £55 I paid was a lot. DCCC are asking for feedback so here's a link if anyones interested

I thought it was very good, the organisation was spot on.

The ticket and beer prices were a bit steep but its the same everywhere and I never mind paying as a one off.

Have they got anymore tests or ODI's in the pipeline for next year?

They have a T20 next month, both then that's it until a test against Sri Lanka in a couple of years. They did have A couple of ODIs awarded by put DCCC decided it was too much if a risk to stage them.

T20 against the Aussies on the 31st, £40 though so very steep for 40 overs of cricket.
 
I already have tickets for the t20 lads.

Its going to be quite a while to wait for the next test then. :(
 
came across very well on tv and extremely positive coverage from the national/southern media. Helped having such a memorable game.
 
Top notch day. My first visit to the Riverside (part-timer etc) but it was phenomenal. I was amazed at the stewarding to be honest. They were actively encouraging the pissheads to have a good time. Shits all over the football for that. As the day progressed, the atmosphere got better & better as more pints were sunk. Transport was spot on, no issues getting in or out and plenty places to eat & drink without it getting too cramped.
 
There on thr sunday, had a class day. Only paid 46 off stubhub for a 80 quid ticket so no moans there, had about 7 pints and some scran and a coffee. If it keeps dccc going fir us part timers to go back then small price to pay.

Well organised. Everyone well catered for. Great game.
 
The only real downside is that it would have cost £385 on tickers alone to go to all five days (had if gone to a fifth).

Factor in your spending money, and you are taking about the cost of a holiday!

Thought it was very well organised and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Was amazed at the lack of queues, perhaps that was due to the prices.
 
Went along on Friday paying £80 to sit in the temp seats and ended up just by the trumpeter and the fanatics but it made for a good atmosphere until some plank who was bladdered late on started acting up thinking he was funny. Stopped in Durham and initially had issues when the bus from Durham train station we intended to get turned out to be rammed so we went back to the bus station and got lucky jumping on a number 21 bus i think it was about 2 mins before it was due to leave and paid just over £8 return for two of us. After initially looking like missing the start after following a friendly local through a housing estate to the ground we were in for 10:30 and in place for the start. Also got back no issues although we did leave before the end to beat the rush a bit.

Not sure about others but think the angle of the temp seating was a bit shallow and my other half ended up sat behind a taller bloke and struggled to see properly. Also got a bit cramped behind the stand when everyone was wandering about at lunch just where they'd had to put the extra scaffolding for the TV camera\hotspot camera. Nice to have the proper draught hand pull Pedigree on offer instead of the other stuff. Laughed at the signs that said how they aimed to serve you in 5mins and were currently averaging 2mins considering the signs looked rather permanent so suspect they "averaged" 2mins across all 4 days.

Produced a cracking pitch as well that led to a really exciting game and showed you dont need teams racking up 400/500 for it to be a good game. As is often the case the 250/280 aside in the first innings generally lead to very good games.

Not a north east local but think Durham CCC did a very good job overall and can be proud of the show they put on.
 
Personally I never understood people who want a "football style" atmosphere at the cricket. Yes get a few beers in you and have a bit banter but I really couldn't think of anything more pointless than building a pint glass tower, or singing derogatory songs about the opposition.

Aside from this I actually think Durham did a pretty good job. The £3 pints were very welcome and I actually think the temporary seating was of an excellent quality. The bars also seemed to keep things moving pretty quickly.
 
Beer and bait both more expensive than Hyde Park when the Rolling Stones were on so def not a good thing. Still, a decent day was had, albeit an expensive one.
