It was lively enough in the north east terrace considering the pretty flat batting performance.

And the Yorkshire men sat near me said Chester le street is better than headingley for watching cricket.

Fuck that , the western terrace is where it's at . Proper cricket watching, full of creamy tetleys

Why football-related stuff at a cricket match though ?

A lot of flags at a cricket matches have football related writing on them. Mine does and its been all over watching England. Apart from Lords & Durham there's never been a problem.

What is frowned upon, by the BA and some cricket snobs, is wearing football tops.

I noticed a SAFC flag up in the County Durham stand yesterday and it soon disappeared.

Shame really. They should just ban mag flags. ;-)

Interesting.

I've seen them of course, and never had a problem....but can never understand bringing the football-related stuff into cricket. I don't really see the point. I cannot imagine it the other way round.

Each to their own, I suppose.

"The Newcastle and Sunderland fans in the crowd are exchanging songs. So far the 'Paolo Di Canio' chants from the Black Cats are outweighing the Magpies' 'Toon Army' shouts, but it's close."

Better lubricate the vocal chords as I'm going tomorrow.

I read that. Depressing parochial bullshit. Would ruin it for me if a load of drunken mags paid more attention to insulting SAFC than watching the cricket.

Saw a few mags on twitter crowing about Blaydon Races being played

" Haaarr haaa a bet tha makums will be proppa gutted hew " f•cking idiots.

Was none of that yesterday thankfully.

Is it any wonder the way people like Steven Taylor go on?

Still no need for it at cricket. Saw one mag top yesterday and on SAFC top and that was it thankfully. Don't mind people wearing club polo shirts or caps like.

I've been doing voluntary work and day 1 did take a while to get going in some parts of the ground, but it was a very slow days play. Today the whole ground was buzzing, particularly during Broad's best spell.
