Carberry is nearly 33, his time has gone.

Compton is not the answer either, fuck knows who is though.

So he could do a good job for a couple of years while Root, Taylor and Bairstow learn their game a bit more.

Don't get the appeal of Morgan. He played last week against Durham which was his first 1st class knock for a while, played a couple of T20s. He doesn't seem to be able to get big scores in the 1st class games and whilst I love watching him he seems to have been found out a bit in ODIs with people bowling outside off to him.

Im sure Mike Hussey was 30+ when he made his test debut. If they are good enough, and able to perform at the top level for 4-5 years age should have nothing to do with it.

Mike Hussey was always a test quality batsman, unfortunately for him he had a generation of quality players already ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'm slightly more sceptical of a bloke like Carberry who just seems to be having a better season than usual.

Taylor will be the first in line to replace Bairstow. Would like to see Stokes challenging in Australia

[Insert the name of the worst performing Durham 1st team player] would be my choice to slot into the England team like. ;-)
