[the ashes] test 3. Manchester

This is far more enjoyable than the lest Test imo. Cricket needs to be a contest, a duel, otherwise it's dull.

It is thoroughly enjoyable rolling the Aussies over but it makes for far better test cricket when everything is more evenly poised.

Australia are an unbroken session away from controlling the match and England are probably 2 wickets away from being in front at this stage. Proper Test cricket

It means they have been part of this culture for long enough to properly call them british.

Mo farah somalian born with a british dad has lived here for 22 years and sounds like he's from south london.

KP only qualifies due to a grandmother and only moved here as an adult, trott no idea about his heritage but only moved here as an adult, compton british heritage I've got irish heritage doesn't make me irish. Dernbach moved here when he was 14 so lived here 13 years has more claim than the rest.

Prior and strauss have lived in this country since they were kids.

Good answer.

Why on earth has Clarke been such a coward and stayed at 6? Should be at 3 never mind 4. Easily Australia's most talented batsman.

Would love to see Root come on v Warner, get one of these 2 out and let the chirp commence. Barmy Army looking to play the Rocky theme tune when Warner arrives.

That had better not be a dodgy umpire evening things up. Both sides have lost reviews to bad umpiring and there's another poor decision.

We've benefitted far more from poor decisions than we've been hurt by them, will take a fair but of evening up to matter 2-0 in the series

Whilst I agree we have had some luck, Id say we have used the system better than the Aussies in the series as a whole. You come across as someone who is anti England.

We have used the system better but Auatralia have lost several wickets on the back of nothing but poor umpiring

I think you're confusing my objectivity for being pro Australian. I can support Enhland while maintaining they're not as good as made out to be and hoping for a fair game in my mind so not fussed whether I meet your criteria

We toiling a bit here like

Early days, not worried. But its like I said earlier our lead in the series as much to do with how poor Australua have been. This is the first time we've come up against sustained decent batting and we look markedly more average.

Have I missed something here :-?

He's batted at 4 3 times and 5 2 times

Good days cricket that...Oz's day today

Enjoyed it aye. Time to see what England are made of. To their credit Oz come back and showed something in very difficult circumstances. A good dominant team would still snuff that out of them pretty sharpish though, so lets see.

5 even.

He's batted predominantly at 5 when he should really be at 3 or 4.

He's batted at 3 only 2 times in his career and at 4 only 20 times. Fuck knows where you got your stats from. He's batted at 5 a huge 64 times in 95 matches.

Clarke was fantastic, played Swanny perfectly.

He was brilliant, what a knock, didn't give one chance.

Aye batted 5 most of his career.

Could do that before with Hussey and Pointing there.

That would be mental, you would be just exposing him to the new ball.

Basic stuff that you want your best player to pile on the runs once the opening few have took the shine and hardness off the ball.

Their opening few are very rarely do that though. He's by far an away their most talented player, should ideally be at 4 or stop being a coward and face the new ball, he's obviously good enough to do so.
