This years Bunbury schools cricket festival starts today and is being played at The Durham University ground this week, with a couple of twenty/20 matches at the Riverside later in the week.
The list of players who have played in this u15 festival and gone on to play for England is excellent. Well worth a visit for anybody who is local especially if you have got kids who play the game.

I'm planning on going with the bairn on Wednesday afternoon. Only 1 Durham lad there - Luke Henderson from Durham School.

Might have a look down on Friday with the family.

Enjoyed watching the Just Sport under 11's League Rep Cup last week.

Some decent players on show for such a tender age.

Watched an 8 year old and a 9 year old drag their team (NTSL) from 5 for 7 after 6 overs through to the 20 over completion with one of them finishing not out which was a good effort and good application.

Unfortunately the last game is on Thursday, but definately worth a look as the standard of cricket is exceptionally high.

Thanks for the heads up Harry!

Might try and swap my day off for Thurs if that's the case.

Mind the weather may put pay to it all anyway if these heavy storms arrive.

My son went down today and took some photos of the North vs the Midlands.

Excellent standard of cricket by both teams

Took the bairn to the T20 finals day today. Midlands won and North ended up "4rth". Superb setting - Racecourse & Durham City CC - lovely weather and cracking time.

The bairn got his picture taken with David English the Bunbury founder, who was also interviewed on Sky TV who had a crew down there, so you can expect a feature on it sometime soon perhaps at an Ashes interval.

Player that stood out for me was a batsman named Patel for the London team. Comes from Essex. Out for 49 but a great innings.
