Ricky Ponting rates Lara as the better of the two what are
people's opinion on here? Personally I agree with him.

Admittedly it won't be but he has had an exceptionally long career, with a fair few years of mediocrity towards the end by the standards he set earlier in his career.

For me Lara was better to watch in full flow.
 
Seen both get tons but probably gave Tendulkar more abuse but definitely more pissed watching lara.

Both great players.

Bradman > Lara > Tendulkar

Bradman played when pads were very poor and on uncovered pitches. Tendulkar was great but I'm always sceptical about sub-continent players who play so much on sub-continent pitches.

so why did none of the other batsmen in world cricket end their careers with an average of almost 100?

Richie Benaud, a man who has watched cricket throughout the different eras, has said that Bradman was the greatest and thats enough for me considering that I never seen him play. I doubt many of us did see him play.

In my lifetime, its pretty tight between Lara and Tendulkar. I think Lara was a better player of spin but Tendulkar was better to watch.

Lara played amazingly well for relatively short period. Tendulkar was scoring centuries years before Lara and for years after. SRT for me

In the last few weeks we've had some shockers on the cricket board, but you've just made the worst post in the board's history. Nicely done.


Personal preference for me would be Sachin just because of the weight of runs, but I'd take either.
