@MAWood33: Nothing better than singing the team song after a close win #blaydonraces dressing room is buzzing
Durham team song???!!!
Strange.
Traditional NE song until 1992 when the geordie nation was invented. Durham represent the north east and good on them for singing it. Shows they haven't swallowed all of John Hall's bollocks

Isn't Blaydon in Northumberland though??
Be like a Lancastrian singing 'On Ilkley Moor baht 'at'![]()

Spot on. Blaydon in old money is in the county of Durham. Durham County Cricket Club is the centre for north east cricket (and recently Cumbria the way they are providing us with some outstanding young cricketers).
If Blaydon USED to be in Durham then fair enough. Found it odd though with it obviously been a NUFC song - even if only since the mid to late 90's!
If it means them singing it keeps us winning I'm not that arsed.

As if Mark Wood has any idea that Blaydon, (or anywhere south of the tyne) used to be in Durham though.
They are singing it because 3 of them follow the 1992ers & I can only assume the rest have just joined in... poor craic imho, but not that big a deal.
Always found geordies or NUFC fans claiming allegiance to DCCC a tad strange (or at least that's what I say to them, to wind them up).
Canny odd song choice considering most of the team are from Wearside...
more shite from you lad...3 at most from Wearside - Borthwick, Mustard, Rushworth
Stoneman, Wood, Onions all from Tyneside/Northumberland. Even the celebrated mackem Collingwood is from a Newcastle stronghold![]()
Paul Collingwood is from County Durham.
Onions is from the former County Durham.
Wood & Stoneman north of the tyne fair enough.
Rushworth, Pringle, Borthwick, Mustard, Raine = all Sunderland
Sorry, if you need directions to Jesmond or Gosforth to watch either of your "minor counties" play - i can happily assist.
Oh and.... 0-3![]()

So, using your logic. Correct me if I'm wrong. Does that mean that Blaydon Races is an inappropriate song for NUFC to sing....? Perhaps 'Le Marseillaise' would be more fitting??![]()
thick twat - you said 'most' which would mean at least 6 players
I haven't a clue what you are talking about. Blaydon Races has been the NUFC clunb anthem for as long as I can remember. Even though the mackems made a pitiful attempt to claim it that won't change.
