The problem is that whoever is batting with Trott in a big run chase has to virtually double their normal scoring rate to get anywhere near to keeping up with what is required.

going at a rate not too dissimilar to Guptill's first 50 runs today. Highly doubt Trott is capable of upping the ante later on in a similar fashion though.

It seems odd that of the top 6 batsmen used in the Test series, the only one not retained for the one dayers (excluding Compton of course who is out of his depth), is Bairstow who is probably the most destructive and powerful player available to England.

I meant in terms of the batting order, maybe moving Morgan to 3 to try to get on top of the run rate taking pressure off those following.
Problem is that he's had almost as many chances as Bopara and never really looked the part

Reminds me of the 2006 (?) world cup where we had Vaughan and that Irish fella opening 'seeing off the new ball'. Awful tactics.
