Riverside is only 18 years old so that's not massively impressive. Records are also there to be broken. But anyway, justifying decisions on those grounds is daft, you should play the game on the day. It was obvious it was very gettable, with a minimal chance of bowling them out.

Incidentally, do you know what the highest unsuccessful run chase is at the Riverside?

We had over 100 overs to bowl at them. If you can't bowl a side out in fourth innings in that many overs you don't deserve to win.

Anyway, back to this one - they've bowled 30 overs this morning, leaving 66 minimum. Just a couple of things to consider, or question - the final hour on the last day must contain 16 overs and can't start before 5pm. Meaning 50 overs are left in this game BEFORE the final hour. It could be possible for us to bowl 60 overs (for arguments sake) before 5pm AND 20 (for example) in the final hour.

So by my reckoning. If we can add 60 runs in ten overs, that would leave (a minimum of) 54 overs left in the day (with 2 lost for change of inning). BUT potentially, if we apply some pressure and get on top we could send down nearer to 64 overs.

Straw clutching at its best perhaps, but just trying to salvage some positives from the wreckage that has been a f***ing tedious effort from Durham's batsmen this morning.

Less than the target Colly set against Yorkshire obviously. I'm afraid the logic that it was obvious it was a very gettable target is beyond me. If it has never been attained before I can't understand how it can be obvious.

No ambition at all from Durham. f***ing joke. Even losing a few wickets pushing the runrate could've seen us 200/6 like we are now, only we'd have been there before Lunch.

So clearly scratching about and going nowhere has brought about the same outcome.
