Oh rocky. 50 and gone
An improvement on 20/30 and out. Can't imagine that batting is easy out there at the minute either.
Oh rocky. 50 and gone
Sounded a joke of a decision. Harris went up for an appeal on his own, strangled it because he knew it wasn't out but the finger was up and he had to go.
Also there are times where the '30 an out' cry is appropriate but players scoring 50+ at the Riverside at this moment in time are making match winning knocks.
I hope Collingwood goes for this tomorrow with his declaration. Just because Root done us over a few weeks ago he shouldn't turn negative. I love a positive declaration that forces a result.
Agreed.
Weather looks good, 94 overs in the day and I would take the first 25 of those and have a right go. We have 9 wickets in hand and if (big if I know) we can rattle along at 6 an over for those 25, then we set them 300 in the remaining 64 at just under 5 an over and can have a little dart at them before lunch.
Might be enough to tempt them and I would back our bowlers to bring home the bacon. Pointless being cautious and settling for the draw. We won't win the championship that way and that's what we all want at the end of the day. Fortune favours the brave should be the motto.
96 in a day innit?? Bat for a session at 5 an over was my thoughts. Lead of 312, declare at Lunch, 64 overs to win it.
I backed Colly before and I'd back him again. I still say he made the right choice v Yorkshire. Anyone else other than Root wouldn't have beaten us.
It's only 94 overs playing time, we'll lose two overs for the changeover.
He made the wrong choice in declaring against Yorkshire when he did because we lost, the reasons why he declared were right, but the the timing was wrong which was proved by the result.
Beautiful sunny day in CLS.

That's a bit lame. The nature of the 4 day game means there are times when you may declare and lose in order to try and win a game. Its about weighing up the odds and the odds were against a batsman playing the best knock seen at the Riverside in years.
