The game will never be rid of it, sadly.
Probably not, but with any luck it's a step towards the game being rid of the IPL.

If it was just the IPL then fair enough, but this disease seems to be right through cricket.
When Pakistan played England at the Riverside in a ODI a couple of years ago this was just after the NOTW sting that caught 3 Pakistan cricketers on that tour.
When the ODI was being played, every time a Pakistan fielder dropped a catch people around the ground were saying things like "I wonder how much that cost"
They were probably genuine drops but if corruption becomes rife in the game then you stop taking the game seriously.
Match-fixing, spot-fixing or whatever needs to be stamped out whatever level it happens in.
