Borthwick has batted in the top 3 before, and is seemingly better than the current top 3, albeit generally against the old ball. Would it be a daft idea to try him up the order again? He'd have some job doing worse than Smith has in this match.

think the top 3 all need a run of 4 games or so

we appreciate the top 3 arent great but its unfair to judge them on one game this season on a bowler friendly surface where nobody has gone past 50
