Appointed batting coach of Australia.

Chuffed to bits for him, he deserves a top job.

Chuffed to bits for him. Top fella.

I e-mailed him at the back end of last year when I heard that the Tasmania coach was resigning at the end of the season to ask if he was throwing his hat into the ring for the job. He said "not yet".

I'm assuming that his big pal Ricky Ponting may well have put a word in for him.

Me and the bairn will look forward too seeing him at Durham this summer. It'll be great too see him again.

Your son will be chuffed to bits to see him. Will be good to see him back in Durham, top top bloke.

He is a great bloke,I interviewed him last month for the DCF which can be seen on their website under the Durham forum

Great interview.

Had the pleasure of drinking with Michael and Dale a few times. They both have hollow legs and I invariably felt the worse for wear afterwards!

"a few times":lol: that's made me laugh. Cracking interview mind

You could use the same concept with a few England bowlers.

Onions and Panesar would have played a lot of test cricket for most nations. Been very unlucky that our bowling depth has been so strong in recent years.

Not sure Panesar is a great example as he will have played a fair few by time he retires, im also not convinced Onions is that good on the international stage

Probably fair enough re Onions - he doesnt need much in a pitch to be reaaly effective but there are too many pitches in world cricket with nothing to offer a bowler of his type. It wouldnt surprise me though if he played and had a great series in NZ.

think there will be quite a queue of bowlers wanting to bowl against the kiwis on their wickets
