This is how the list stands at the moment:
Botham 383 (102 tests, ave 28.4)
Willis 325 (90 tests, ave 25.2)
Trueman 307 (67 tests, ave 21.6)
Underwood 297 (86 tests, ave 25.8)
Anderson 288 (77 tests, ave 30.4)
Anderson is averaging a little under 4 wickets per test so if he continues at that rate he would need to play another 25 test matches to beat Botham's record. I suppose that's only another 2-3 years so realistically if he stays fit it is possible.

This record is probably the oldest for a test team's leading wicket taker. it would be nice to see it finally broken and by a good stretch.
It is nothing personal against Botham who was a cricketing legend.
