Aleem Dar commented on another thread that this board is about people sharing information about their club.

I fully agree

My assessment of our season. Come on lads let's have a little review of your club

Brandon 1st team
Disappointing after last year but the loss of Bosisto (now captain of Australia under 19 captain) and Turner (of to Notts on a pro contract) contributed greatly. Powder dry for a big push next year

Brandon 2nd team
Second in the league(I think) beat Langley who won it by a mile the only time they played
Couple of silly defeats cost them. League cup final for the second time in three years

Brandon 3rd team
Best season ever A1 finalist second year running and league title winners. Not saying they were best team in the league but getting games played had it's rewards

Brandon Elite
Any body that wants a game plays and gets a bat or bowl. Few proper cricketers just to keep it competitive games all played in a fantastic spirit season badly affected by the rain

Washington 1st team.

Decent in the league, too many games rained off though and prevented any title charge. Won the F15 today though so made up for it.

Washington 2nd team.

Disappointing in the league, once again, too many games rained off and genuinely weren't good enough. Missed some key bowlers.

Washington 3rd team.

Think they finished 2nd, very good season with youngsters coming through.

All junior sides bar the 18s won something and we are moving to the NEPL2 next season, happy days.

1s - consolidated mid table in division 1.
2s - weather thwarted a promotion bid from division 3 to 2.
3s - successfully beat the drop in first season in top division.

Mixed.

On a personal note, it's been pap for me!

How's that then bud ?

Bowled 2-0-15-1
Batted 7 ball duck

Wasn't asked back

Haven't played as much as I would have liked for various reasons (work and other commitments mainly) and when I have played, I've played myself out of the team by been pap!

No complaints really, on the whole, and hopeful a change of scenery next season will mean more game time and enjoyment.

From this side of the pond......

Wexford Wanderers 1st Team
Unfortunately due to weather postponements and some very weakened teams with one game to go (against current bottom team) are relegated from League 7 to 8. Some good points from the season with good performances from personnel who were asked to move up a level. Out at the quarter finals of the cup against a very destructive batting team.

Wexford Wanderers 2nd Team
With one game to go have confirmed promotion from League 12 to League 11, unfortunately lost our second league game against the leaders (and champions) yesterday. Good all round performances home and away set the foundations for a challenge but too many games lost to the weather. Out at the quarter finals of the cup against a team who ended up promoted from League 11.

A lot of our away games are played on astroturf matting, whereas we have a proper cricket wicket at our home (rugby) ground, and this is possibly where both teams have been let down this year with some questionable batting and bowling performances.

Outlook is good for 2013, which hopefully includes the weather - 9 games out of 24 cancelled due to weather this year!!

Sunderland 1st XI
Finished 4th in the league, which we would have accepted at the start of the season, but was slightly dissappointing given that we lead the table for 2/3 of the season. Didn't get anywhere in the cups, but did go out against the 3 teams who finished above us in the league.

Sunderland 2nd XI
Won the league comfortably having only lost once and finished strongly by winning all of the last 12 games played. Got to semi-final in 2 cups, and still involved in another which has yet to be concluded.

Sunderland 3rd XI
Also won the league comfortably, with a lot of promising talent excelling.

I believe that, unlike sunderland, Chester le Street were unbeaten in the second division and that had they not had more games affected by the weather they could well have won that division.

no one mentioned anything about the NEPL div 1, which once again South north won on the last day, after Blaydon somehow lost to Tynemouth.

We finished about 60 points ahead of CLS, having played only 1 game more (which was a rain affected draw anyway). We won 4 more games than they did, which was the difference.

In general i think its ridiculous that games called off arent replayed. you regularly see teams unbeaten in leagues but end up not winning merely because the team that ends up top has been able to get more games on.

very dissapointing season in the league. 3rd from bottom. too many players just didnt turn up. did get to league cup semi but other than that nothing to rite home about.

Pushed for the league all season only to fall at the last hurdle.weather spoilt it for us all. managed to get to the league cup final only to loose to silky. the outside cups we got to the semi in the james bell loosing to south north. best ground in the north east. we also managed to hammer south north in 1 cup and also hammered tynemouth in another cup. seasons high for me included getting my 1st career hatrick and hopefully i finished top of the bowling averages and maybes top wicket taker. 39@6 from 11 games.
