I think everything was handled completely wrong. We should have said nowt and got on with trying to remain number 1 (and to do so you pick your BEST player!). Do people think it would have effected the result? Well actually it would, more likely for the better. Unless of course you believe it was a complete bed of roses until a few days ago? KP himself has said there has been issues for ages man.

I would say cricket is about winning in the correct manner mesel like. His personality and attitude doesn't belong in cricket imo.
As there had been at Notts, Hampshire, then Surrey and now England. Coincidence? Pietersen has been banging on about how important he considers the IPL to be while the rest of the England team have quite rightly been focusing on the important stuff and it's only since there's been a conflict of schedules that there have been any reports of a lack of dressing room harmony. I think it's safe to say that it's not a case of KP being the scapegoat when things start turning sour, but KP being the reason things have turned sour.
Regardless of the strength of the side, I'm glad he's not there. A character that is clearly such poison belongs in his front room watching it on telly.

Test Cricket is, in my mind, the most pure of all sports because it is absolutely ruthless-one ball between success and failure, again and again and again and again-a test of all your abilities over five whole days, whilst somehow managing to maintain a spirit that it’s more than about winning too. It’s about the team, about fair play, about applauding everyone’s talent and ability, and about morals and codes which extend beyond a sport and winning. It’s a test of your character as much as it is a test of your ability.
KP’s actions suggest that he isn’t that into the other elements though and so I don’t want him in the team if he’s going to go on like that. I would rather watch England lose every game from here on til I die if it meant that cricket preserved it’s ethos. There’s more than enough other sports out there solely about winning and ego, we don’t need another one.

No arguments from me. Ive made no secret that id be quite happy if all limited overs versions of the game were scrapped.
We will have to agree to disagree on the winning/losing bit though. I usually go to two England tests per year and id prefer to see the best players for my wedge tbh.

Im gutted, absolutely gutted we are losing. Which is why I am also annoyed that we dont have our best team out.There will be loads of other stuff going on that we dont know about. Unless you think KP is the only one to dig at his team mates? Just look at the other little clique with Broad, Bresnan and co.
