Filming will be taking place this weekend for the Club Life (?) feature on Sky Sports to be broadcast during the Lords Test.

I couldn't be arsed with it to be honest. Obviously the argument is you want to increase the profile of your club to attract people to it, but how many people who aren't already involved with a local cricket club will actually watch it.

The Tynemouth one a couple of years ago actually became a bit annoying and the Evenwood one seemed like a plea for cash, even though they could afford to pay for a Sri Lankan pro!

Seems a bit of a "look at us" exercise!

Its their 150th anniversary so I suppose they're entitled to say 'look at us' this year at least!

Club life was better when they followed 3 clubs throughout the summer, rather than featuring one each week.

Always loved playing at Whitburn. They've had some cracking pros in the past. Once saw Lance Cairns launch one of our bowlers back over his head over the trees into the street. and there was always some posh bird sunbathing in the posh flats when it was sunny

Club Life will be shown on lunchtime of day 5 apparently, unless there are rain interruptions when it may be shown earlier.

I was a junior there when Lance turned up to start coaching us on Sundays. Must have been the first half of 1978, because the Kiwis had a short tour that summer. Was quite a thrill to have somebody remotely famous coaching us.

I believe Lance Gibbs was pro sometime in the 60s too.

Yeah it was around that time maybe a year or so later. Lance Gibbs was pro there too, you're right.
