Dont worry it will definitely be covered. Outfield will be the only thing but it drains well and the groundstaff will be on it early doors.

Optimistic here!

Bbc are saying torrential rain from midday Friday until midnight. Then cloudy Saturday, do it may be a case of getting the pitch dried out. Bit of luck they will have it under cover

They will have the main covers on but my main concern is the fact we only have 1 blotter. The groundstaff will be working non stop as they always do.

For such a money spinning event they should buy or borrow a 'blotter ' like, am sure our Yorkie marras have got one they could lend us!

We may have hired 1 in/got another provided by the ECB, but for normal Durham games it's just the 1 which at times is very frustrating.

Are they the little roller things with sponges on. They must have more than 1 as I know South Northumberland AND Swalwell borrowed one on the same day last season to get games on.

To be honest they arent much good anyway. After a certain amount of rolling they can seal the ground a bit and prevent further drainage. For the outfield I reckon you just have to trust the drainage kicks in!

If we have more than 1, they didn't use it last season during on/off rain games (Yorkshire at home springs to mind). I've never seen more than 1 on the pitch.

1 thing I know, is that the groundstaff are very dedicated at Durham CCC, and will be doing everything possible to get the pitch sorted for 11am tomorrow.

Are you the gaffer SAFCDCC?

Nope, just attend on a regular basis.

They will do everything they can to get the game on, as Durham CCC won't want to face the prospect of handing out refunds.

thats the pisser, I would have my money back than wait 4 hours to watch 2 hours play, f***ing right rip off.

Do cricket clubs take out insurance for things like this?

Sure I was reading somewhere they do so they dont end up paying all money back themselves and thus still make a bit of a profit

anyone recommend parking and the best time to get there? taking me old man, never seen England play, cheers

I see sky's of blue, blue sky have come
Finally at the riverside, we got the sun
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world....
