Mark Ramprakash has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, ending a 25-year career.
The 42-year-old Surrey batsman has had a successful career since making his first-class debut for Middlesex in 1987 at the age of 17.
He averaged 53.14 in 461 first-class appearances and played 52 Tests and 18 one-day internationals for England.
"I would like to express how lucky I feel to have had such a long career," said Ramprakash.
He scored 114 first-class centuries, at Headingley in 2008.
Despite scoring 35,659 first-class runs and a further 13,273 in List A games, Ramprakash has struggled for form this season.
He averaged just 10.70 in his five County Championship appearances in 2012 and was in May.

Wonderful player. Joy to watch. His management as a 21 year old was a disgrace. Debut against the West Indies which included Marshall,Walsh and Ambrose did well for a kid then didn't go to New Zealand but was recalled to face Wasim and Waquar!

I'll always remember him as a great fielder who bullied medium pacers and gentle offcut bowlers in county cricket, but couldn't step up whatsoever at international level against the lads who could send it down at 90mph or turn it sideways.

This.

Absolute quality County player but not a great international. File alongside Hick. In my opinion like.

Loved Ramps, reckon he couldve made it Internationally if he was handled better. Its just a shame there were so many great bowlers about in his era.
