Let's hope this means the management are actually going to make some changes to try and keep us in division 1.

Good move. something had to change.

Left field but my money is on either collingwood or Otis gibson taking over from Geoff cook when he decides its time to hand the reigns onto someone else.

Wouldn't be disappointed with Benk/Colly/Ottis. Would love to see Ottis working with our young bowlers too.

As for Colly, think its a good move but I fear too late for this year. Perhaps the club has rebuilding in mind? One things for sure, I don't think there's anyone better for the young'ens to be learning from.

Only trouble with DiVa gone is that it probably means Muchall has his place nailed on for the rest of the season instead of giving Richardson his chance.

Nailed on to be Benky
I'm not so sure about that. As I said earlier - Colly or Gibson for me.

I think that durham might do what the likes of england has done, have a much reduced squad size but a few more coaches.

quality over quantity with an enhanced support team.

I agree. It does seem to me that the GC has a lot on his plate and could do with some more support.

There is a dearth of quality players of prime age. No team will win the CC with a combination of those nearing retirement and those just starting out.

Colonel - The Colonel Fawcett is an amazing pub!! I only live around the corner from it.

I think a clear out may be inevitable this summer with a lot of older players on big contracts not contributing enough, especially those who are nowhere near the one day side.

Colly seems the logical short term choice, but unfortunately we may well be looking for another captain at the start of the 2014 season and we hardly seem to be overrun with potential candidates in the current squad.
