LVCC D1 - Durham v Lancashire

Fair play to the team yesterday on an outstanding win. Smith is very good in the field but it does seem odd having him at number 7. Delighted with our CB40 form at the moment.

Plunkett got smacked all over vs Scotland, 1 wicket for 61 runs. He got 2 wickets yesterday for 50 runs. 4/33 vs Somerset

To be fair to Plunkett he bowled very well for his first 7 overs, going for 30, then it all went tits up in his last over.

Agree with that, I'm purely just posting his stats up.

Personally don't think he has a future at Durham

Take a look at our CB40 fortunes to our CC fortunes. Two things stick out - different captain and Harmison not playing CB40.

but as i pointed out - it is not our fielding/bowling that is costing us in the cc, its that we cant get runs on the board, the captaincy has nowt to do with that, neither does harmison's bowling

His last 2 overs the other day does not back that up.

exactly its a testament to our bowling attack that we have been in a position to lose these games by less than an innings
So the Collingwood knock had nowt to do with it? Harmisons last 2 overs were a disgrace, could have escaped with a draw, but instead it was a big kick in the solar plexus defeat.

Edit- I meant Stokes.

I don't think Harmison deserves a place in the side but your argument is similar to blaming the defence for a 1-0 defeat when your strikers missed 2 penalties.

No it isn't the fact is that Harmison lost the match, what on earth was he thinking of bowling that bouncer? That is fact, what you are saying is guesswork.

the captaincy to bring harmison back into the bowling was a crazy idea on saturday. he took 2 wickets in 25 overs vs Lancs, not very good is it?

so much wrong with our lvcc campaign at the moment.

Harmison is a joke, he's bleeding Durham dry and is nowhere near good enough to be in the LVCC team.

His last 2 overs the other day does not back that up.

his bowling down Somerset was also shit. he was going at over 6 an over in the first innings and even the commentary were saying how poor his bowling was.

Agreed.

Nobody has a good word to say about him when you speak to regulars down at the ground, that was also the case last season.

This is a man who is bleeding the club dry, claiming to be injured last season yet is playing in his own golf day whilst claiming to have a bad back.

It's a disgrace he's still representing Durham County Cricket Club.

He should have been removed from the club for his antics last season (golf whilst injured) and for his comments against the club for releasing his half arsed brother.

stokes' knock was a factor aye, but again, it has nowt to do with the captaincy or harmison's bowling so i dont see how that is relevant?

im not saying he is worth a place in the side either, but you can hardly blame him entirely for our loss, as has been pointed out

The reality is that the bowling has been pretty poor as well. If it wasnt for Onions we would be looking at even fewer points.

His bowling in my opinion is poor and he can be blamed. He's paid a fortune and offers virtually nothing
