LVCC D1 - Durham v Lancashire

Status
Not open for further replies.

brandon

Striker
Starts tomorrow.

Their team is out, taken from Lancs website.

Squad: Glen Chapple (capt), Karl Brown, Steven Croft, Gareth Cross (wk), Kyle Hogg, Paul Horton, Gary Keedy, Simon Kerrigan, Sajid Mahmood, Stephen Moore, Ashwell Prince, Luke Procter, Ajmal Shahzad.

Ours not out yet, although Diva is a doubt.

We really can't afford to lose this game, or next weeks. We ARE in a relegation battle and we need points sharpish!

Heard nowt lately but the word last week was that he'd be out a few weeks more...... So I don't expect him to play.

P Mustard (19) Captain and wicket keeper
DM Benkenstein (44)
ID Blackwell (37)
ME Claydon (25)
PD Collingwood (5)
SJ Harmison (10)
J Harrison (13)
GJ Muchall (24)
G Onions (9)
WR Smith (2)
BA Stokes (38)
MD Stoneman (26)
CD Thorp (36)

I'd leave out Muchall and Thorp - in other news, we're fucked. Relegation fodder without Diva.

I hope they keep Harrison in the team as his confidence should be reasonably high following his impressive debut last week.

I reckon Muchall will miss out plus one of the seamers, probably Harmison or Claydon.

is that the offical squad?

Stoneman, Smith, Stokes, Colin wood, Benkenstein, Blackwell, Mustard, Thorp, Harrison, Onions, Harmison

is my prediction, possibly with muchall replacing benks or blacky depending on fitness.

three fighting for two spots are claydon, thorp & harmison, thought i think i'd rather play wood & brathwaite over any of them, claydon deserves a game over thorp & harmy but i think he will be drinks boy

EDIT: what has happened to borthwick? we were playing him in the green conditions but now its drying up weve dropped him??

Was trying to find Colin Wood in the squad that had been listed wondering who the hell he was

Haven't seen any of the games but Borthwick's figures haven't looked that great, going for 8's against Scotland wouldn't have pushed his selection tomorrow.

ALSO is this being covered on the radio? perhaps some of you keen followers will know, can a portable dab radio tune in to the regional dab stations?

ie will i be able to listen to cricket on bbc radio newcastle on a portable radio down here in kent?

infact.. is the cricket broadcast on bbc newcastle on is it an online only extra station like 5live SSX :?:

that would p*#! me right off :evil:

tbf i doubt it will hurt harrison's case, and harmison went for about the same in the last 4 day match!

plus as i said, he was used early in the season when there was going to be no chance of spinnig, hard enough for an off spinner let alone a leggy, but now the sun is out and the ground is dry and weve just been ripped apart by dockrell in our last match we have dropped him

Online only marra. However if you have a Smartphone you can listen via the TuneIn Radio App, which is free. Search for BBC Live event (then the number, which Marty usually puts on his Twitter before play starts).

Edit - its Live Event 16.

I appreciate that but Harrison has performed in the other games he's played and Harmison's got proven class if not form (getting that back's another debate). A player who's not established needs to make a better go of his chances than Borthwick has this season.

he is no less established than thorp, claydon, harrison, harmison, had better numbers than blackwell last year iirc, and as i said he was played early in the season when leg spin was never going to be that useful so he is obviously highly valued. plus as i pointed out, dockrell won the game at taunton last game, the same game we decided to drop borthwick. just seems odd to play two spinners when the ball wont turn and drop one at teh first sign of spin being effective.

plus your first point, harrison has only played in one other game ;-)

I might head down to watch on Friday to watch.
