From what I hear from some Yorkie fans is that he's been hung out to dry by the management as he couldnt get along with Gillespie.

Apparently Shazad wanted to ball yorkers, bouncers and wicket taking deliveries wheras Gillespie wanted to him to take the slowly slowly approach.

I like the guy, his county figures are deceptive, his only test was very decent taking 4 wickets at 15 with a strike rate of 24.

The Yorkshire management were very unprofessional the way they went on and has left a lot of yorkie fans with a bitter taste. Their loss is Lancs gain, if they can put a arm round his shoulder, I reckon he could do quite well for them.

He looked canny in the cb40 game on the telly the other night. Hopefully he'll be another Swann, where he develops later on in his career.

But we'd rather spunk out money on an over-the-hill Saffer and decent left armer for the pajama cricket.

i remember reading when the emirates sponsorship deal was announced that they would be putting money into the club for players, but this would be used in limited overs stuff.

you can understand why the sponsors would want to put there money into t20, its the trendy younger brother of the real cricket

It's abhorrent and should only be played by bairns (up to U18 level like I did), club sides in one competition per year and by casual sides like the SMBcc.

It shouldn't even be a thought on the professional game.

Far better than everyone bar onions and still young enough to have around for another 8+ seasons. Don't understand why people calling him about egg after having a disagreement with his coach over how he should be bowling

I think you could make the same argument for all limited overs cricket. What does 40 or 50 over cricket bring to the professional game that can't be enjoyed to a much greater extent in 4 or 5 day cricket other than fans with short attention spans? In professional cricket, it's not like time limits matter to the players like in the amateur game when it is the only practical option.

If the limited overs game was canned, there would be so much more time to complete the championship with less risk of the weather intervening like we've already seen in many of the games so far. Not only that, but the quality of cricket would improve with more rest time and players being focused on just one championship battle.

double yes!

five days for county matches, leading to far more results [massive sticking point for cricket moaners is all the draws] and also more chance of a result even when day or days lost to weather.

one game every week for spring/summer, plenty of time for a full county schedule and perhaps a limited overs knock out comp, straight knock out mind, none of this league and play off bollocks, and have the minor counties involved and below, in qualifiers, much like the fa cup.

now that could be mint, haway the smb cc making it all the way to the final one day!
 
Hasn't been missed - yet. Steve Patterson has taken 14 wickets in 2 games and both have been victories. 8-)

Just awaiting Mitchell Starc's arrival from Oz now.
