MON had said a few weeks ago that he was considering starting some of our fringey players (Elmo, Ji, Gordon).

I'd be genuinely shocked if Gordon played, but you never know. Could be a good opportunity for Gordon to show off potential suitors.

Good for him but nor for Sunderland, as he's out of contract and we'll get nothing.

The only reason for us to play him is if the question of whether to offer him a new contract (on reduced terms) is still open. He may not get better offers with his injury record.

That's what I meant.

I'm fairly certain he'll leave, and if he does start tomorrow, it's a good opportunity for him to remind the various clubs that he's still relevant.

I'm the man who if you have balls to take my bet up is gonna be £100 better off

It has to be worth more than even money Haway man

FWIW i also heard earlier this evening that Gordon will start tomorrow. From a mate with a friend in the club sort of thing.

More chance of ShieldsBlackCat starting goal than Gordon.

The bloke has played his last game for the club, FACT.

He was never good enough anyway, no point in letting him play. Have you all forgotten the cross shots (e.g. the one against the scum), the missed crosses, the mayhem in the box because he didn't control things there? The redounds etc., etc., etc..

Best keeper at the club.

Spot on.

Although you've started someit here

Will we not have to fork out about 5 million for this one appearance??

There have been rumours of 1m owed.

Yet just a few weeks back safc.com published an article saying he'd played 94 games (I think it was, maybe 93, sorry can't remember the exact figure, but it was a few below 100).

If there was such a clause it would be likely to be triggered by the 100th game, so he would have a small handful of games he could play. Some evidence to corroborate this theory would be his inclusion on the bench.

He's been on the bench a fair bit recently.

Maybe the next payment is triggered by [x number] starts, hence the club are happy to have him on the bench.

Personally, I don't think he'll ever play for us again, been saying it for months now.
