I thought he was bullshitting aswell like, but some of the stuff he was coming out with would be pretty impressive if it was off the top of his head.

Aye such a shame. He was a great prospect, a clone of Mcgrath/Akram.

I for one hope he comes back after he pays his dues.

Im not sure if he was bullshitting mind, it takes some guts to do what he did, esp as he hasnt even told his family or friends the full story........ felt like he was getting some stuff off his chest. His claim of being manipulated by Butt and his agent has some merit imo.

I feel that he wants to get on with his life now after such a horrible time. TBF he was only 18/19 at the time. Everyone has made mistakes in their life's and regretted them afterwards. Just hope he can learn from them.

The interesting bit for me, was when he was being quizzed by waqar.......and he didnt know what to say.
 
Ill be interested to hear what the other "cheats" have to say when they get released if they give interviews.
Someone will be made out to be telling porkys I bet.

If he is lying, it wont haver been off the top of his head. He will have had plenty of time to think up a cover story. I dont actually think he is lying. But he still cheated the game regardless.

On another note, how comes Atherton is asking the questions in English and Amir is answering in his native language, yet both are nodding whilst the other speaks?

Well in the court case both Asif and Butt were making out Amir was to blame for it all. Like an 18 year old would be the mastermind kingpin. Amir was not allowed to testify as he had already pleaded guilty. So this interview was the 1st opportunity to tell his side.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments of all the posts that he cheated. I however am not gonna condemn him for life and am willing to forgive a young lad who I felt was coerced in cheating.

I reckon it was highly edited mate. I dont think Athers has learnt Urdu on the sly.

Nah, Ive watched it again just there. Atherton clearly doesnt understand and is just nodding to show he isnt dozing off. Amir clearly understands the questions (in English) as he is giving part answers whilst Atherton continues and throws another point in. (yet answers in his home tongue).

I agree with your stance on Amir and his involvement.
