First, I'd love to get a game away at Bamburgh organised for a Bank Holiday Monday (although I hear they are already almost fully booked for 2012 which is why I'm putting this up now). Always wanted to play there.

At some point over the winter those of us who fancy a tour should also have a think where to go. York/ Manchester/ Liverpool/ Nottingham/ Sheffield being the obvious ones, one of the lads has already booked July 23rd-27th off for it.

tee hee

I'm sure if you book it we will play....oh and i have the 21/7-4/8 off...touring hopefully should we be able to arrange it.

Need to sort out who is in charge of the SMBcc these days...

you sort the fixtures, mick sorts the finance if a team needs to be sorted then everyone at some point has chipped in to get a team out and if a team has too many in then usually someone who has been playing loads has stepped out. Not sure what the problem is tbh?

contacts for our next tour ?

edd mentioned something last year where there was a tournament on and they also provided accomodation, cant remember where it was though.

We need to discuss where first. I suggested a few in the opening post, all sound good to me...

There's a tournament at Riverdale Hall. The Knights made me aware of it last year but it was too short notice/people wanted to play for Houghton 3s instead for it to happen last season (2011). The e-mail I got about it detailed it as:

Are you still interested in going to Riverdale Hall this year. They need a £5 deposit per person paying as soon as possible. The total cost being between £60 - £65. This includes

3 Games of cricket per team
Teas after each game
Breakfast
3 Course Evening meal
Accommodation and full use of facilities.

I believe it happens over the May bank holiday but might be wrong.

With regards to other games, the Vic Halom league has expanded from 5 to possibly 8, but probably 7, teams with the more-than-likely inclusion of NAS and a team from Kibblesworth. Depending on the amount of teams will depend on the format (1 division, 14 games; or 1 division 7 games ((4 home/3 away or vice versa)); or 2 divisions, 6 games with the inclusion of a cup) and of course we'll be entering the Felling League to steal RWEs crown and defend our cup.

Depending on the number of games over the 2 leagues will depend on the amount of friendlies.

And I've tried contacting Bamburgh Castle CC regarding Toms not so subtle hint.

Wasn't hinting mate, would have been happy to do it myself. Realistically it'll have to be one of the May Bank Hol Mondays though and I was more testing to make sure we'd get 11 up there first?

if you book it people will come factamundo

I suppose you better test the water with each team and see who would prefer 7 games and who would prefer 14

Each team, bar Kibblesworth, has recieved an e-mail. Nothings set in stone until I know what the majority want. For example, Andy Lewis said he might struggle to get teams out until July so they'd prefer fewer games I'd imagine. I think from a playing point of view I'd prefer 1 division, 7 games, and a cup. Organising it would be easier as well.

But as it is, I don't think my e-mails are working as I can see it in the sent folder but no-ones replied. :-x

Yeah, agree 14 games is too many mate. Great work though, didn't have a clue you were doing all that behind the scenes. Are Kibblesworth expanding like?

Kibblesworth have a load of young lads and lasses who aren't getting games on a weekend (only one team) so this would be an ideal opportunity for them.

Good to hear, if this goes well they might get back up to two weekend teams in time.
